Looking back over the past 31 seasons from 1981-2011, Auburn's second period was the downfall of the 2011 Auburn Tigers.
  • During the 2nd period, Auburn was -68 points during 2011, the worst quarter since 1981. The second worst quarter behind Auburn's 2011 2nd quarter was -35 points (2000 1st quarter).
  • Looking at the average points scored per quarter and the average points allowed, Auburn's 2nd period during 2011 ranked as the 30th best offensive 2nd quarter since 1981 and the 31st best defensive 2nd quarter out of 31 teams.
  • It was a complete collapse on both sides of the football. Considering that nearly 90 percent of Auburn's games have been decided by halftime since 1981, having a total collapse during the 2nd period was devastating for the 2011 Auburn Tigers.
  • Auburn scored 10 points or more during the 2nd period in 2 of 13 games but allowed 10 or more pts during the same period in 10 of 13 games.
Average Ranking of Auburn's scoring offense by quarter since 1981:
