On this play Auburn faces a 1st & 10 from their own 26-yard line. Auburn lines up in a 1-back set and 3-WR's. Philip Lutzenkirchen lines up on the boundary side, which draws the focus of attack by the MSU defense. Auburn executes the stretch play to the left with the hand off going to Mike Blakely. The DE on that side attempts to run an inside stunt. John Sullen initially engages the DT and feeds him off to Greg Robinson.
The stunting DE is picked up by Sullen as Robinson now drives the DT outside to create a running lane for Blakely. What is noticeable about this play was the block made by Quan Bray on OLB, Deonte Skinner checking in at 245 pounds. Bray did a great job sealing him off to give Blakely additional running space. Blakely came close to cutting the play back inside but was tripped up and held to an 8-yard gain.
