according to al.com this morning.

How did we get so lucky? And we will have to pay extra for that privilege I bet.

It's amazing that ABC/ ESPN thinks people like to listen to Musburger. The guy seems to never shut up and goes on and on about details that are unnecessary. He'll be 75 years old when the season starts. ESPN has much better play by play announcers.

Between Musberger and Bob Davie I'm not sure who I hate(d) to listen to more on broadcasts.

Probably Musberger, though. Just him mentioning Bama, Michigan, Ohio State, or USC has replaced his prescription for Viagra.

Jeez Musberger, have you ever heard of retirement? Play some golf, spend time with the grandkids, or do some macrame.

Exactly, he hates the SEC, loves the Big 10, and he is the primary SEC Network announcer? Go figure...

I never listen to the TV announcers anyway. I always listen to the Auburn radio broadcast.

Yes, that works well for watching live, but watching a replay, you're stuck with musburger. I guess you could buy access to the radio replay too.......

I would much rather have Blackledge and Nessler over these two.

They will still likely be the announcers for the #2 SEC game each week (still behind Verne and Gary for the #1 pick). Musberger and Palmer will basically be doing the number 3+ game each week.

No doubt, it will still be horrific to experience though.

Jessie Palmer.

This is the worst news I've heard related to the SEC Network so far. Here's to hoping skunk head does a terrible job and gets demoted to CSS before August is up

If Musberger will be the SEC Network guy who will be the play-by-play guy for the #1 ABC game with Herbstreit? I guess this means we won't be subjected to Musberger in next years title game either.

edit: I found the answer, it will be Chris Fowler. Like Herbstreit he will do double duty on Saturdays. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/espn-s-chris-fowler-to-become-lead-college-football-announcer--continue--gameday--duties-142931320.html

I wanna say I already saw that confirmed on Twitter.

Not a fan of either! Mushberger needs to retire! He will probably die saying "maze and blue"!

I've never really minded Musberger. What I don't understand is why Palmer is with the network at all much less on a broadcast team for a live event. He must have pictures on somebody. Every time I listen to him, I get more and more amazed at how little he knows about the game. For him to be an analyst is just inconceivable to me. He's just BAD at what he does.

Don't understand the Michigan thing because he is a alum of Northwestern. Also, I have no idea why they chose him or Palmer either, especially Musberger. Nessler and Blackledge would have been my picks.

This has been the worst announcement of the off-season. Jesse Palmer is the ABSOLUTE worst. He has no idea what he's talking about, he can't tie his tie right, and overall adds nothing to my game watching experience.. Rag on Finebaum all you want. I'd gladly take him over Jesse Palmer.

Good choices.

I'd have taken Pollack over Palmer. Finebaum is filler content, and if he does well, he'll be there a while. Musberger...that was their excuse to slide him out of ESPN. Surely a year or two and he'll be done. I expect a good bit of experimentation in the first two years as they strive for the right mix. Tebow and McElroy will soon be promoted incessantly as well.
