Mikey 16,466
I would not go that far. My understanding is the staff really likes Monty and is still recruiting him hard. Also we will likely sign at least 4, likely 5, DLs regardless of whether we lose a Star commitment or not. We have 10 or 11 open spots right now pending when Golson goes on scholly and of those spots 5 DL are in the top 7 or 8 on the priority list for the staff "The staff" better get to crackin'. 5 DL commits of the quality we need looks pretty much like pie in the sky at this point. ellitor 33,039
Seems like we are on the verge of losing momentum in recruiting we obviously lost momentum. we got 6 recruits in like 2 weeks at one point. That number is nowhere near sustainable. I am happy with 1 commitment a month during the summer. Im more concerned about losing commitments than anything. Such as Harrell, Bridges, and Atkinson, and where do we stand with the linebacker Darryl Williams? Wrong Williams. The LB is spelled Darrell. The Center is spelled Darryl. We are in good shape still with the LB.

au_bsci_04 407
Seeing as Atkinson is no longer a solid verbal, and E Sullivan is going to dawg night this weekend with Ledbetter (Bama dt commit who is expected to flip to the dawgs and goes to Tucker HS with Sullivan), and hoping for an offer from UGA, how much does this change our recruiting picture at the Star position? IMO it doesn't. Remember the chances of anybody not named Therezie, Garrett, or Alexander playing Star this season is highly unlikely. I don't see us losing Sully. If Monty were to flip we still have 4 combined Stars/Safeties in this class with Sully, Colbert, Edwards, and Tray Matthews. Lastly Colbert is a star candidate also. I'll put this in Sullivan's thread as well, but for those thinking he is flipping to UGA, this might change your mind. The "rumor" was that he was going to Dawn Night to workout in hopes if earning a coveted offer from the dawgs. Well, he was there, but elected not to work out. From the AJC... Sullivan had said he was attending Dawg Night to earn an offer from UGA, but he elected not to work out. So that ship might’ve sailed.

ellitor 33,039
He's probably referring to the pornagraphy. More than likely. And that's more than just a bad tweet IMO. He is committed toAuburn right now which means he is a represenative of our school given he is a public figure because of his recruitment. I really wish he would delete that tweet because it's in public poor taste.
Wareagletd 0
In his defense, it isn't a tweet that he tweeted by his own self. It's something he retweeted, in other words, somebody else's words. He's 17-18 years old. He's young, but is he doing anything different than all of us have done? He just retweeted it. Should he delete it? Yeah, sure. Should we be all angry and not want him to come to Auburn after he retweeted that? No.

It has nothing to do with Bible verses, it is about showing class and acting like an Auburn man. I couldn't care less about how he put it on his twitter. He could have looked at the picture and not retweeted it.
Dixie1860 27
It's sad that some of these kids are literally expected to give up being a kid at 15 and 16 now Not really. In years past people got married and had kids while working to support themselves. Society has trumpeted excusing all kinds of bad behavior under the cloak of immaturity. Nobody is responsible for their actions anymore. Should we lock him up? No, but IMNSHO, we would be doing ourselves a favor to swing the pendulum the other direction, even if just a little bit. It's still public acknowledgement. He is committed to AU and as such he is a public sports figure representing AU. As such, he should not tweet or retweet stuff like that. If that pic is something he likes or agrees with then fine but keep it where it belongs, private and behind closed doors. I'm not and will not personally for retweeting that pic but keep it private. I'll feel the same way if he flips to UT and no I don't think it makes him a bad person.

McLoofus 35,182
It's possible that kind of thing is more common than we know, although it seems that college football fans follow the twitter accounts of players and recruits fairly (read: far too, IMO) obsessively these days and we'd likely know if it were. Do our coaches have the option of demanding that a committed-but-not-signed recruit take something like that down, lest they decline his commitment? Not saying they should- I haven't even seen the tweet- but I am curious about things from their perspective. PS- aujeff11, it sure is refreshing to see somebody on the internet who knows to say "couldN'T care less"

tbone4jc 2,237
Not everyone is going to be a born again Christian who signs with Auburn. Some are going to be into things that may seem inappropriate to some and might seem like a normal teenager to others. To be honest, he is NOT a representative of Auburn until he signs on the line. Sort of like comparing a girlfriend to a wife. Some of the posters on this site seem to look for something to get offended about...
