Auburn practiced in Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday, but didn't scrimmage

Auburn's Gus Malzahn says QB Jonathan Wallace is "in the mix" to be the holder for kicks and "other special team-type things."

...

Malzahn says Justin Garrett has improved. "It's sort of the same thing we saw last spring. He has a nose for the football."

...

Malzahn on QB Nick Marshall since January: "There's no doubt he's improved since that time. The key thing with him he's very coachable."

Malzahn on special teams works: "We put the kickers in situations in as game like as possible and I think they responded."

@AUBlog

Malzahn also says A-Day will follow same format as last year (split team, full game style)

Justin Garrett says docs discovered he has flat feet, which contributed heavily to his injuries in 2013. Wearing special shoes now.

@bmarcello

Justin Garrett is wearing special Under Armour orthopedic cleats this spring. The junior Star position player has been plagued by injuries including breaking his foot twice last year and sitting out as a redshirt.

"When I injured it in practice, I couldn’t believe it because I had just gotten back out there feeling good. It’s been a long, hard road but I’m glad to be back on the football field," Garret said.

Interesting note on Garrett. Hopefully that means he's going to be able to fulfill the expectations we had for him coming into last season.

And again, thanks for the updates, RIR!

How did someone not notice Garrett had flat feet? You can tell by the way people walk that their arches are flat... SMH Haha

don't seem like a huge discovery. LOl.

That's very encouraging to know about Garrett! I hope they have figured out how to keep him on the field and help him live up to the expectations. I really believe that our defense is going to be able to do some great things with the versatility of Garrett, Holsey, Therezie, and Moncrief.

Is that Peyton's dad? He looks bigger than Peyton.

If my dad looked like that I would have acted much better as a teen.
