Do we know any details? Actions that are detremental to the team can be anything and if police were involved then it must have been something very serious or threatening.

You are probably right but it may have been dumbo was kicking him off the team anyway and he wanted to make a statement in front of the entire team at practice.

Word is veteran backup Cole Stoudt is now the frontrunner to open against UGA. Watson should see a lot of playing time though. He did get injured in practice a week or two ago (collarbone) but should be back for the start of fall camp.

Clemson Football Intern Tweets Real Story About Chad Kelly’s “Fender-Bender”

Earlier today, it was announced that Clemson quarterback Chad Kelly, just a redshirt freshman, had been kicked off of the Tigers football squad for “conduct detrimental to the team”. There were initial reports that Kelly had been arrested during practice after a “fender bender” incident that took place this past Saturday. The school did not release any information regarding the situation, leaving many to speculate.

Well, a few hours later, we’re getting some clarity from one of the interns for the football team. Ali A Rogers, who won the 2012 Miss South Carolina competition and returned to school to resume her academic career, tweeted out the story of exactly what happened. She claims that the incident took place this past Thursday night, but that it was not the reason that Kelly was booted from the team.

While Kelly may not have been kicked off the team for the transgression, it surely couldn’t have helped his cause. Kelly, who was taking a lot of heat on the social media network, has since deleted his Twitter account.
