As far as I'm concerned every member of the Alabama legislature should be jailed for allowing payday loan companies to charge the obscene interest rates they do. "The Alabama Legislature had a chance to regulate payday lending, but the bill this year suffocated in the House Financial Services Committee. Eight of the nine committee members – Republican and Democrat -- took money from the payday loan business. As did the leadership in both the House and Senate."
