Hoping some of the seniors have tremendous 2014 season and up their draft potential.

I had no idea Frost was considered that high in the NFL. Does Mikey know that? :)/>

It has been a long time since I've seen as much talent in a Sr class as this. It is exciting to think about what these guys can do and the level the program has reached. It's scary to think about what will need to be replaced the next year.

Interesting stuff, I can't say I agree with all all of it. A lot will change based on how they play this season. Thanks for posting.

Agreed. But it would be even more dubious to try to predict who's going to improve and who's going to slip and base it off that, so last year is the only reasonable basis for prediction. Of course, you could argue that predicting next year's draft this early is not reasonable on any basis, but hey, it's the off season.

These projections have us with between 16 and 20+ players being drafted if none of them stay.. I'm a massive homer and fully believe that all of them should be drafted but there is just no way.

These ratings are all over the map for these guys. Some are rated wayyyy too high for even the most delusional, biased fan IMO

I didn't rank these guys. You can send an email to someone from NFL Draft Blitz and NFL Draft Scout. They are the most delusional, biased guys, IMO.

Yeah, I wasn't implying that you rated them. I was just caught off guard by some of the evaluations. Especially the disparity between how one organization rated a guy compared to the other in some cases. I appreciate you listing everything out though, with our senior class and possible juniors leaving early in one nice, neat place. Especially with the chances of the player staying/leaving.

Man, we are losing a lot of players this year. I know we have plenty waiting their turn, but your talking a lot of starters that are seniors.

That's why I am not looking forward to the Louisville game in 2015. The team will be extremely inexperienced (relatively speaking) and that's a tough opener. This and next season has the potential to be much like 2010 and 2011 respectively. I know this sounds like a crazy statement given the great year Gus had, but he needs to have a great season this year because it gets difficult to have back-to-back mediocre seasons at a place like Auburn, especially after early success (see Chizik).

Gus will need a great season and a win over Bama this year just when thinking long-term. Should he not, next year with a younger team things will be getting hot. Not "you're fired" type of hot, but, "Hey, you need to turn things around quickly or we're looking elsewhere." That may sound silly to some, but think about it... should he lose to Bama two years in a row, a third will not go over well. But if he has a great season and beats Bama this year, a mediocre season next year will be acceptable / normal.

2015 season won't be much like 2011 season. Jeremy Johnson is better than Barrett Trotter and Clint Moseley. You forgot about Jovon Robinson at RB, too. I think this and next season has the potential to be much like 2004 and 2005 than 2010 and 2011. IMO.

we play a TON of underclassmen. The drop off will be much smaller than it appears on paper.

We lose a lot at particular positions (RB and DT), but the rest is normal turnover.

Even if Young or Coleman went pro after this year, we'd have 2/5 of the line back and a third (Miller) with starting experience to plug the open OT spot, and that's a worst case scenario.

We could see a lot of turnover at WR, which would be tough losing Marshall, CAP/Grant, and Duke/Sammie. That's certainly possible, which puts pressure on the OL, but at the same time, (keep in mind, I LOVE CAP and Corey and think they'll both be great this year) we should see an uptick in talent at RB next season with Robinson, Roc (So), and Barber (So). Plus, you've got Johnson at QB, and we're grooming him. This is closer to Dameyune Craig taking over than Barrett Trotter. Jeremy is extremely talented and won't be entirely green.

On the other side, the only position with a larger-than-normal turnover will be DT. We lose Mincy and Reed at CB, Whitehead and King at Safety. Those are the only rotation guys I expect to lose in the back seven. We lose one DE (Owens). The rest of the losses come from DT, which obviously an issue, but that's life.

2015 is going to be a LOT better than 2011. That's my prediction at least.

I think those are our keys. I contend that just about any decent QB will succeed under Gus as long as he'd got a good offensive line, WRs who will block and good RBs behind him. That last item is a given for the foreseeable future, and mcgufcm makes a strong case that the first item should be okay in 2015 (as long as we can find a reliable center- either way, depth at OL is better than we could ever hope for right now, and it appears as though that will continue to be the case as long as Gus and JB Grimes are working together at Auburn).

2011 just needs to be buried. Gus wasn't in charge that season. He is now. I guess some folks just refuse to recognize a good thing even when it's sitting in their laps.

We brought Dampeer in from JC as the Center after Reese for one year. While we will loose some O-Line guys we have some really good young backups and we look like we will be bringing in a bumper crop this year on NSD. We loose two linebackers but look like we have some new ones who will be freshman this year and what looks like a strong class of LB this coming NSD. DT is the area we will need help just like last year we might be playing some freshman as we just might also do this year so might not be as bad off as it seems.

We are loaded at RB and as I said above O-Line should be good so WR might be an issue especially since Auburn expects WR's to block which a lot if Freshman WR's can't do.

Overall we will be solid next year and might even be great.

1 - Not really... Austin Golson got some experience as a starter at tackle spot when he was at Ole Miss. I think we will be fine with Miller, Golson and Smith at both OT spots. You can add Martez Ivey if he signed with Auburn.

2 - My opinions at first was Brandon Cox but I concur with you about Dameyune Craig.

Agree. We lost 25 senior after 2010 and also Cam and Nick....and had very little behind them for a couple years. Chiz and Gus have done some great recruiting and have built depth in about every position....so while you hate to lose the seniors, that's the way college football is. What is important is to keep the pipeline full and give the up-and-coming young guys some serious playing time....say.....like against Arky State, or Samford or whoever...and groom them for the system.

Correct, but Reese is possibly the best center in the nation. Additionally, of all OL positions, center is not the one most likely for a seamless transition.
