During Auburn's season opener against Arkansas, the offense generated 14 impact plays or plays of 15-yards or more. This was the 3rd most against a SEC opponent since 1992. The previous high came against Mississippi State (1996), when Auburn recorded 16 such plays. Of the 14 impact plays against the Razorbacks, 8 came via the passing game.

On this play the Auburn offense has a first down at the Razorback 27-yard line. The Tigers come out in a 2-WR set with 2 TE's. C.J. Uzomah is lined up on the boundary side, adjacent to the LT. At the snap Jeremy Johnson play-actions with Cameron Artis-Payne, which freezes the LB's (Image #2).

Johnson sets up in the pocket, looking off his intended target (Uzomah), which pulls the boundary safety over to the WR. Uzomah runs a skinny-post route, blowing past the OLB, who initially played the run first. Jeremy Johnson delivers the pass over the OLB before the safety can move back over in time. Uzomah makings a leaping grab, hauling in the pass for a 26-yard gain inside the Arkansas 1-yard line.

Cameron Artis-Payne scored on the very next play. Of Auburn's 14 impact plays against the Razorbacks, 11 were part of Auburn's six scoring drives. From 1992-2014, Auburn is now 46-8, when they record 10 or more impact plays during a game.

Uzomah seems primed for a huge year with Duke and Coates drawing so much attention. With his size and speed, he can be one of those guys to come from nowhere to be included in NFL Draft talk.

There is nothing better then watching the Tigers go 80+yard drive on all running plays…..takes the heart out of a team….(especially when they know we can just as easy do it through the air too).
