RunInRed 16,239
OC Rhett Lashlee Remember how Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee didn't meet with media members Sunday night? Well, he's about to meet w/us now.... Lashlee now here and starts out noting how much of a challenge he expects South Carolina's defense to pose Saturday ... Lashlee: "They've settled down and played well the last couple of weeks." ... Malzahn on Braden Smith starting: "I don't think he's ready to do that yet." ... Lashlee on the WRs: "We're going to call the plays that we think will give us the best chance to be successful in the passing game." ... Lashlee on Roc Thomas: "We feel like he's grasped the offense and it's slowed down enough he's ready to play." ... Lashlee on Cameron Toney playing any meaningful snaps at H-back: "We've got our two older guys and we're sticking with that." @wareagleextra Lashlee gets philosophical with his secrecy on play calls: "There's always a pass option, and there's always not a pass option."@JFerguson Lashlee on first-down issues: "We've got to execute more on first down to get more yards rushing. It's not rocket science."... Lashlee on Roc Thomas: "You're always going to be leery of young guys in third-down situations. But we feel he's grasped the offense." ... Lashlee: "It's going to come down to us being better in the second half of the season than we were in the first half." @AUBlog
