It seems like when it comes to the theoretical separation of Church & State, that pretty much means anything the state does that is anti-religion or anti-Christianity is fine, but support religion (and, who are we fooling? Christianity) and that’s probably going to be a huge problem. This kind of hypocrisy does not accord with the rule of law.

Take the Freedom from Religion Foundation, which has announced plans to hand out materials at 11 public schools within Orange County, Florida, on January 16, National Religious Freedom Day. If only this appeared to be about informing people that they have the option to be “religious free,” something that would surely be a stark revelation to many, then it could be considered more of a free speech issue. But this looks to be deliberately incendiary and a smear against Christians.

That’s the problem. You can’t be dragging public schools into court to fight every possible form of religious speech, and then go to public schools and attack religion. Let’s take a look at what this means in practice.

One particular pamphlet, titled “An X-Rated Book: Sex and Obscenity in the Bible,” depicts a living Bible reaching its hands up the skirt of a woman:

According to FFRF, it is meant to shed light on what the organization considers to be inappropriate content in the Bible, including mentions of sexual activity, nudity, and circumcision.

I don't have a problem with atheist groups promoting a non-religious society, if Christians can distribute material to schools, then atheists should be able to as well. Either both can or none can.

No school or group should stop what they are doing because this group says they will sue. They haven't won any cases.

They need to re-read the clause, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

Any time they try and shut down prayers at some type of school function, they are the ones that are infinging on the free exercise thereof. Congress(or any govt) is not making an establishment of religion, the people at these events are choosing to pray and no one is forcing anyone there to participate. By blocking prayer all together then this is prohibiting the free exercise thereof. Some Christian lawyers need to file lawsuits for banning prayer.

I would argue the possibility is based on whether or not the current trend with the FCC continues uninterrupted. The PC mania continues to gather momentum and personally I refuse to place any limitations on govt over reach. Ruling with consent of the governed seems to have become a thing of the past.

They want their freedom FROM relgion but they don't give a rip about your right TO religion. It's not about religion or any other subject as such. They have a fundamental disagreement with the very foundation of this country. The constitution to them is an obstacle to be overcome and shredded and tossed aside in their quest to create their socialist utopia.

Im not convinced its a social utopia they're trying to create but they are clearly trying to destroy the current social order in the USA. I dont really think their vision extends beyond the accomplishment of that primary goal.

Of course it constrains the government. The only way I ever see the first and most important amendment of our Bill of Rights ever being removed is through somebody suspending it through marshall law and declaring themselves dictator for life. That won't be happening.
