Reagan vs Obama

This is not a post to argue about the economic policies although the polices of each man come from their core beliefs. I have been watching the funeral of Ronald Reagan and I was taken back to his constant optimism and love of and respect for this country, its institutions and it's people. The American people loved him back and the outpouring of love and respect shown to him when he died is not a common thing. You never would have heard him utter a phrase like "You didn't build that" He called America a shining city on a hill. He would never have referred to the constitution as a "charter of negative rights" Even when he learned he had Alzheimers, his thoughts were to express gratitude to the people for having been able to serve them. You won't hear any of that from the current occupant of the white house or any democrat candidate for president.

Reagan had a record of great accomplishments. By contrast, there has never been a president elected with such lofty expectations of greatness who failed by every measure so spectacularly as BHO. One loved America, the other has dedicated his entire presidency trying to fundamentally change it.
