Surgeon General confirmed

Vivek Murthy, 37 years old finished his residency in 2006. What? How is this guy qualified? Oh, I get it, he is a BIG proponent of ObamaCare and bundled $hundreds of thousands to OFA to support Obama. Once again Obama's promise to protect and promote our own and punish our enemies is on display.

This dude is a kid and highly unqualified for this job. He also honestly believes gun ownership is a pathology and has suggested in the past that physicians question patients about whether or not they own guns.

Status Quo nomination for this president. He has two more years to pay off his debts.

Surgeon General is probably the most benign position appointed by the POTUS. There truly is no real need for the position when you think about it.

He's relatively young, but exceptionally accomplished:

How many longer established Docs would put up with these year+ plus games from Republicans? Your boys make everything dysfunctional. That's how y'all like it.

but most importantly, he bundled $hundreds of thousands of dollars to OFA and stood by yaboy in a white coat when he needed it most.

Well, at least he's worked in the field instead of being chairman of the "Thoroughbred Breeders Association". Or something.

"Unfortunately, Dr. Murthy's nomination had more to do with politics -- he was a founder in 2008 of a group called Doctors for Obama, and has been an outspoken political advocate of Obamacare and gun control -- than his medical experience," he said. "With America facing the challenge of Ebola and other serious health challenges, it's unfortunate that the President chose a nominee based on the candidate's political support instead of a long career delivering patient care and managing difficult health crises."

If you dont like who the President nominates, vote. it is that easy.

Bush nominated some fools as well.

I get the first point, but by what measure is this guy a fool or unaccomplished?

Are you talking about Michael Brown:

• While he was in college, from 1975 to 1978, he handled "labor and budget matters"[3] as an assistant to the city manager of Edmond, Oklahoma (1980 population of 34,637).

• While attending law school, Brown was appointed by the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee of the Oklahoma Legislature as the Finance Committee Staff Director, where he oversaw state fiscal issues from 1980-1982. In 1981, he was elected to the city council for Edmond, but resigned to work in private practice.

• He also taught at Oklahoma City University law school as an adjunct. From 1982-1988, he was the Chairman of the Board of the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority.

• Judges and Stewards Commissioner for the International Arabian Horse Association, (IAHA), from 1989-2001.

• January 2001, Brown joined FEMA as General Counsel.

• FEMA Director April 15, 2003.

If so, you actually picked one small part of his life to minimize his accomplishments. He was hardly wet behind the ears. Also, Brown is more accomplished than the president. I only wish the president had screwed up one US city.

As long as the job requirements are met, I don't have a problem with it. There's nothing to "excuse".
