Senior Auburn forward Hasina Muhammad, suspended for the past two games for fighting against Alabama, has been dismissed from the Auburn women’s basketball team for a violation of team rules, head coach Terri Williams-Flournoy announced Sunday before Auburn's game at LSU.

“Our student-athletes have to be held accountable for the choices they make,” Williams-Flournoy said. “It is a privilege to represent Auburn University as a student-athlete, and we expect everyone that is part of our program to conduct themselves accordingly.”

Muhammad played in 19 games this season, starting four. She averaged 9.1 points per game for the season and was Auburn’s leading scorer in SEC play, averaging 13.7 points per conference game.

Over four seasons, Muhammad scored 1,184 career points to rank 23rd in Auburn history. She is fifth all-time in blocks (169) and seventh in steals (224) at Auburn, and she is on track to graduate in May with a degree in physical education/teacher education.

Wow...is this an all time first? Sorry things got like that but Flo has some work to do to bring this team around and does not need distractions.

I'm sorry she's gone. Muhammed has been the most talented player on our team for the past four years. Her performance alone was worth the price of a ticket. She deserves a big War Eagle in spite of the poor ending to her career here.

I'm not sure she was a better player than Tye Tanner but certainly a top notch talent....don't know what she did (and likely we won't) but I hate it for her. She was on the WNBA watch list at the beginning of the year. When she was healthy she was fun to watch!

Things are becoming painfully obvious. The distraction seems to be Flo herself. She has absolutely no cohesiveness on this team. This is year 3. Her most talented players are Hasina and TraCee Tanner. She recruited neither. This is not acceptable on the part of the Head Coach at Auburn. Period.
