Derek Pitts, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound receiver/linebacker, said on Monday he’s received a football scholarship offer from Auburn.

“I just got a call from Coach [Will] Muschamp on Sunday,” Pitts told the Gazette. “He said he wanted to see me and offered.”

South Charleston High coach Donnie Mays said Auburn called him on Monday and “made [the offer] official.”

“Derrek is excited,” Mays said. “To get recruited and to have your first offer be from Auburn, an SEC school, is awesome.”
