Hillary Clinton Used Personal Email at State Dept., Possibly Breaking Rules

*WASHINGTON —
exclusively used a personal email account to conduct government business as secretary of state, State Department officials said, and may have violated federal requirements that officials’ correspondence be retained as part of the agency’s record.

*Mrs. Clinton did not have a government email address during her four-year tenure at the State Department. Her aides took no actions to have her personal emails preserved on department servers at the time, as required by the Federal Records Act.
:lmao:

*It was only two months ago, in response to a new State Department effort to comply with federal record-keeping practices, that Mrs. Clinton’s advisers reviewed tens of thousands of pages of her personal emails and decided which ones to turn over to the State Department. All told, 55,000 pages of emails were given to the department. Mrs. Clinton stepped down from the secretary’s post in early 2013.

*Her expansive use of the private account was alarming to current and former National Archives and Records Administration officials and government watchdogs, who called it a serious breach.
*“It is very difficult to conceive of a scenario — short of nuclear winter — where an agency would be justified in allowing its cabinet-level head officer to solely use a private email communications channel for the conduct of government business,” said Jason R. Baron, a lawyer at Drinker Biddle & Reath who is a former director of litigation at the National Archives and Records Administration.

What is it with these freakin people and emails? :lmao:

From Lawrence ODonnell @ MSNBC

In the immediate aftermath, a baffled Lawrence O’Donnell said there is “no conceivable rational explanation” for the former secretary to “legitimately” use a personal email in absence of an official State Department one.

“This is not a senior official at the Environmental Protection Agency or the Department of Agriculture. This is the secretary of state using a not secure commercial email system,” O’Donnell said.

“I just think there is something more going on here because it just raises so many questions,” said MSNBC analyst Beth Fouhy. “Where were the State Department lawyers who allowed this to go forward? Where were the top diplomats in other countries receiving these emails from HRC@yahoo.com or something like that saying ‘wait a minute, this can’t possibly be an official missive from the secretary of state of the United States.’”

“She is a very secretive person, there’s no question about it,” Fouhy said. “For her to just willingly violate it to just to preserve some semblance of privacy really makes no sense.”

It's one thing to have a side e-mail account, but to have NO " official " e-mail , and instead have this private account... the height of corruption.

Meanwhile, the MSM are still wigging out about Bill O'Reilly, trying to phony up ANY sort of cover to save face on losing Brian Williams.

Hillary's ever growing list of ethics problems are getting harder and harder to hide.

Raptor, If the Dems run HRC as the Nominee, i could imagine a race where she is basically out of the race within 6 weeks of the Conventions.

I am very happy that ODonnell has said the truth for once. "there is “no conceivable rational explanation” for the former secretary to “legitimately” use a personal email in absence of an official State Department one." The fact that no one at State stood up to her and said so, or lets even imagine that someone went to the WH, hell the WH had to be receiving these emails from HRC's account themselves, and told her to get with the program. This might be why we havent heard squat from her for weeks.

It simply comes down to this...Hillary knows the rules, knows the laws, and refuses to be bound by either, because what she wants, for herself, is far more important to risk being " bothered " with such annoying and petty little things.

No doubt about that. if there was ever a pattern of behavior that painted the picture of a prima donna in action it would look like Hillary Clinton's. Always insisting on flying around in private jets, charging $200 grande for a speech, becoming incensed when questioned too closely about anything, calling all the women her sexual predator husband probably raped, bimbos.

And she's got other things to answer to...

The 2016 campaign has acquired an unexpected storyline in its early stages: All Madam President’s Men.

As Hillary Clinton begins to staff her nascent presidential campaign, a paradox has emerged. When she ran in 2008, she played down her potential to make history as the first woman to be president, but her campaign was run by a woman and dominated at the top levels by women. This time, Clinton is properly emphasizing her pathbreaking role, but she’s relying on the old-boy network — in large part by taking over President Obama’s heavily male campaign apparatus.

Her campaign chairman: John Podesta. Her campaign manager: Robby Mook. Her chief strategist: Joel Benenson. Her pollsters: Benenson, John Anzalone and David Binder. Her top media guy: Jim Margolis. John, Robby, Joel, John, David and Jim join former Obama hands such as Jim, Jeremy and Mitch, who have already been boosting Clinton’s candidacy in the super PAC world.

And there's this , too...

Why is Hillary Clinton paying women only 72 cents for every dollar she pays men?

By Ethel C. Fenig

Part of the hoped for winning strategy for Hillary Clinton's hypothetical presidential run is to focus on disgruntled women who think they should be paid more. (OK, they probably should. And so should men.) Hammering on the myth that women are paid 72 cents (or 77 cents) for every dollar men earn and hyping multi millionaire Patricia Arquette's Oscar winning plea for more money for women with support from other multi millionaire Hollywood women--and men--is probably being worked on as you read. Hints of this emerged last Tuesday at a Silicon Valley tech conference where Clinton stated, earning her $300,000 fee, “I think we all cheered Patricia Arquette’s speech at the Oscars, because she’s right — it’s time to have wage equality,”

But for Hillary, the "time to have wage equality" has not arrived for her staffers; the 72 cents per 100 cents female/male pay ratio is no myth according to this

widely discussed report in the Washington Free Beacon.

During those years, the median annual salary for a woman working in Clinton’s office was $15,708.38 less than the median salary for a man, according to the analysis of data compiled from official Senate expenditure reports.

The analysis compiled the annual salaries paid to staffers for an entire fiscal year of work from the years 2002 to 2008. Salaries of employees who were not part of Clinton’s office for a full fiscal year were not included. Because the Senate fiscal year extends from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30, Clinton’s first year in the Senate, which began on Jan. 3, 2001, was also not included in the analysis. (snip)

Signs indicate there will also be large gender pay gap on Clinton’s 2016 campaign staff. The
Washington Post
reported
last week that Clinton will rely on “President Obama’s heavily male campaign apparatus” to run her upcoming presidential campaign.

A request for comment made to the Clinton Foundation was not returned.

Whoops! Not only was Obama's 2012 campaign staff "heavily male" it was heavily white as the famous photos "An Obama Campaign Photo That Looks Like a Young Republican Rally":

194181_5_.jpg

and "Charting Obama's New Campaign Team".

Hopefully Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lopez and other over 30 female gazillionaires who whooped during Arquette's speech despite succeeding on their own talent and grit rather than glomming on to a husband's name and network won't discover this hypocrisy. Maybe then they can all complain about discrimination against those over 60. Or 50.

They adore her and always will. In fact, Andrea Mitchell, NBC News, has been slyly taking shots at Obama, here and there, to give Hillary some cover fire for the upcoming election. Get the public over the Obama era, and focusing on Hillary. That's how the media work.

Seems to me, the bigger the scumbag, the more adoring the MSM is of their democrat darlings. The current media in America isn't a long way off from how Pravda operated when the Politburo was fully in control of the Soviet Union.

Hillary is older, and has been despicable for longer. Obama is a straight up narcissist, and a radical. He has no concept of " getting along " or compromise. He's never had to , given so much in his life simply because of who he is.

Hillary, would make trivial concessions, here or there, when she was younger, simply for appearances sake. Now, I think she sees the sand in the glass running faster and faster, she's less likely to play that game. She wants it all, and she wants it now. She's done playing around. This e-mail account stuff ? Tip of the ice berg.

Now now, she needed that extra income. The Clintons are always broke. On a lawyers income and Bill's salary as Arkansas attorney general all they could afford to live in was this meager house in Little Rock.

Where I work it is corporate policy to only use official corporate email systems for business. Personal email is never allowed for that purpose. That has been the policy for over 20 years in order to retain business records. And the reason for retention is among many others, is being able to respond to government and civil discovery orders.

The political government hacks are using private e-mail in order to evade that discovery for the same reason that many of them have and are still keep private calendars of meetings, diaries, journals, and working files. They try to keep their activities private from Congress and the people.

Remember J Edgar Hoover's private files that he used to force politicians to do what he wanted. Files that were destroyed after his death.

What private email system was used by Hillary would be interesting to know. Did she use one at the Clinton Foundation or one at Google Mail or some other public email service.

Those public email services are good enough for Islamic terrorists too.

cptau.....dead on. It is also common in DC to walk across the street for meetings where there is no log kept of visitors. Just another way of avoiding the intent of rules.

Hillary Clinton released 55,000 pages of emails, she is the ONLY SoS to do that in history. Colin Powell did not have a federally issued email address and used personal email for communication.

I am not sure where the scandal is here.

There was no law for him to do so. There is for Hillary.

It's the pages of e-mails she did NOT release or keep records of which are in question.

She violated the Federal Records Act

She personally criticized members of the Bush administration for doing what she did.

The article states that Colin Powell's use of private email was prior to enactment of the current requirements.

The scandal is this constant appearance of her hiding/dodging going back to when Bill was President through Benghazi. There was the whole Federal Records Act, too. To act like this is completely a non-issue is disingenuous.

Rose Law Firm records, firing of the WH travel office, the list of her corruption goes back decades.

As pointed out the current law has only been in place a relatively short time so Hillary being the only Sec. of State to release e-mails is not something she can brag about. The law wasn't in effect when Colin Powell was DOD Sec. And.....Hillary didn't release these voluntarily.

Elizabeth Warren is loving it.

HRC did not release ALL those emails, only the ones her staff had combed thru and said were okay for release.

That totally violates the entire intent, letter, and spirit of the Law.

This just might get real interesting. Warren versus Lady Inevitable was going to end in a rout.

Warren versus Severely Damaged Political Hack is a whole new ball game though.

LAST THOUGHT: The very idea that Powell, HRC, or whomever would be allowed to use a private, non-secured email account is just mind bogglingly stupid. I will file this one under just more total incompetence by the folks in DC. How do you allow USSD-Cabinet Level sensitive emails to be held on a freakin public server? WTH?
