I agree I wouldn't want to risk it this spring but it is great news he is ahead of schedule

I'm pretty sure the coaches aren't going to take any risks with him. If the doctors are 100% sure he is good to go then they will let him work. Otherwise they'll hold off.

I agree. Wouldn't risk it for Spring football. We all know he is a sterter in Fall if well. I think a 100% Kozan is our best OL.

Alex is further along than coaches thought and if this can take place it would be huge. Even if he doesn't return to full contact before spring practice is over it certainly bodes well for his return to the lineup this fall. http://www.al.com/au...ml#incart_river

Don't count on Kozan to do much this spring and be re-evaluated after spring ball. Still very iffy if he will play again. FWIW.

Too bad, sure hope he could. He was terrific his Freshman year. He could really help us.

If that is the case then how does that jive with what the article says. I mean why would the coaches be talking like this if it is so iffy he would play again? You may be right but it doesn't make sense putting this out if that is so.

He has yet to be cleared for full contact. So until that happens, I would follow what WDEWDE says.

I get that part and I am not being Pollyanna here. I just think if he were so unlikely to ever play they wouldn't be even talking about this possibility. He's obviously further along than predicted by this point so while not saying he will definitely return I am thinking the chances are very good. If I'm wrong well so be it.

I believe this. I thought it was decided when he got hurt last summer that his playing days were over. I was shocked he was back this spring.

Why would you think that? It wasn't reported that way anywhere, and the coaches certainly never intimated such a thing, much less Kozan. So other than wannabe sports medicine docs on message boards, where did you get this idea (if you don't mind me asking)?

Gus is quoted saying Kozan would be re-evaluated after spring break. Thats all. AL.com just made stuff up as usuall. I hope Kozan can come back but I'm just relaying what I'm told from someone who knows.

^ in summary, I think we are all saying the same thing...he's progressed ahead of schedule but until we see him in contact we should just be supportive without too much pressure or expectation on such a good young man.

CGM must feel very good about his Kozan reports or he would not be making statements getting fans all excited about possibility of Alex's return so soon. I'm sure WDE has insider info but may not be all the information CGM has available. We'll see, if this question comes up again after spring break, and I'm sure it will.
