Auburn forward Jack Purchase has been granted a release from his scholarship, a person familiar with the decision told AL.com Sunday.

Purchase will transfer after spending most of his freshman season on the bench under Bruce Pearl.

Purchase committed to former Auburn coach Tony Barbee.

...

Auburn appears to be one player under the 13-player scholarship limit.

Surprised even two are left. Barbee's biggest fault (among many) was his inability to retain players.

Let's see how Bruce does...bringing in players with only one or 2 years does not tell us much. I'm waiting on him to recruit a few good freshmen ....and then seeing them still around and playing in their junior or senior years.

Won't be a problem at Kentucky.
