Auburn landing BrianVanGorder is the best recruit of Chizik's '12 class. Wow. That dude is a great college DC.Can't wait to c who AU's new OC.
...
What VanGorder did at UGA, as Richt's DC was very, very impressive. Don't know Auburn if cud have pulled a better DC. IMO

SEC background
Successful college and NFL experience
This is why you don't open your presents until Christmas morning.
This is why you don't whine on message boards.
This is why you don't speculate about rounding up the usual suspects.
This is why you hire a hard working man as HC, give him your support and tip your hat on the sidewalk when he walks past.
Timing was perfect

wonder who the OC will be B)

I hope he trashes the "patty cake" defensive line play right off the bat! :big:

Player, "But coach he stood right there between me and the quarterback."

VanGorder, "Son that should be his problem, not yours - knock his . . . "

Given the roster of dudes that played for VanGorder... I have a hard time believing he was below average as a recruiter.

For what it's worth, from is Wikipedia page:

"During his Georgia tenure, six of VanGorder's players were selected in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft, including defensive tackle Jonathan Sullivan, safety Thomas Davis and defensive end David Pollack in the first round, and safety Sean Jones and line-backers Boss Bailey, as well as Odell Thurman in the second round."

Can't hurt with the recruits.

I love he is coming from the NFL,recruits seem to like that.

Ditto!
I think it shows great potential to recruits, like they will be already playing at a pro-level.

As a Falcons and Auburn fan I love this hire. He's a fantastic coach on the college level but couldn't quite cut it in the NFL. He'll strike some fear into the college kids and get them amped again.

I guess we know why CGC had to wait to announce this. :big: Falcons played their last game yesterday...

One wonders if the OC is still coaching an NFL team too?
