There is a banner ad for UA National Championship crap on AUFamily?

Can't that be stopped?

I think it has to do with google ads. PT had a similar complaint a few days ago.

Didn't see the previous post. The ads are like someone peeing in the swimming pool. Mods, please delete if deemed necessary.

Sounds like someone has been browsing the Bammer boards. Google knows what sites you browse and tailors the ads to that. ;)

The ads can be stopped but I don't think most people would like the alternative. ;)

Remember, while this is a free site for you to enjoy (and will remain so as long as I'm around), it's not free to operate -- especially with our ever-increasing bandwidth* demands.

*We are on the verge of having 10,000 registered members on the Forums and just this week we set a new record for online members at once (1,408)!

And knock on wood, the site has been humming a long pretty good (any one remember the old days when we dared hit the site with even a fraction of the traffic we have today?).

Anyways, I say all this just to remind us all of how far we've come as an online community and how your support (by tolerating ads or better yet, clicking on them!) enables us to continue to operate, grow and improve the site. Thank you again for understanding and for all of your support.
If you are not yet a member of AUFAMILY, Register Now and join us! It's simple, fast and of course, completely free. You can also Register with one click by using your Facebook or Twitter account...

The google Adsense product is explained here.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AdSense

The more comments made about certain subjects causes adsense to display related ads and links. So talk about BCS, bama, football probably trips the ads being displayed.

If you talked about cars, other ads would appear. Either way the site is paid by google to display the ads.

The reason there are bama ads is because next to Auburn, bama is the most talked about topic on this board and has been typed thousands of times in many threads. If you don't want those ads we can all just stop talking about UA.

I for one would vote for the alternative. I'm seeing this 'DONE' crap on my facebook ads, here, damn near everywhere.

Or everyone could just stop using inaccuracies like "The University of Alabama" or "Bama" or "Alabama" or "Tide" and use the correct spellings of "uat" or "bammer" or "turds."

Pro-tip: if you see an ad you dont like anywhere on the internet CLICK IT.

It makes those you dont care for shell out money for your click.
