Now we know what players may fill in the holes of our recruiting class...

Its a high potential hire. Loeffler is a young, "up and coming" coach. Basically you're looking at a risky hire (because he has next to no actual coordinator experience) that has the upside of turning out really well.

I was thinking along the same lines. Of course, there is as much a potential downside as up...

I'm not excited about the hire but there's no way he can be too bad either. We've already had the worst OC in modern football history in Noel Mazzone. I'm not impressed by any of the QB's Loeffler's produced. Henne is a total bust and Tebow is a great football player but not very good at QB. I am glad that he wasn't actually Brady's QB coach at UM though because whoever was should never coach football again. Brady is a sure fire first ballot Hall of Famer and whoever his college position coach was turned him into a 6th round draft choice - pathetic.

I want to trust Chizic on this hire but his last two coordinator hires resulted in one home run and one foul tip. This feels the same way but I'm going to try and hope for the best. I do have to wonder if this is why we lost two of our top offensive commitments in the last month.

It can't be any worse than Hall/Ensminger. I am indifferent but I am glad we have one in place so that we can get the recruiting on.

I actually like it, not love it, I think he brought him in for a couple reasons

-He boosted Temple's offense while he was there
-NFL connections
-He is a QB coach who also loves the run. Sounds like we're returning to the AU Football of old.

I think he is going to develop Frazier really well. Gus spilled the beans that Frazier is going to start this season so we shall see.

The hire is a great hire. He was one of my top 2 choices, but all this waiting totally had me thinking it was an NFL guy (he does have one year of NFL experience as a QB coach).

The timing is the puzzling thing. He could have been hired two weeks ago.

It makes me think we were going after someone from the Ravens - Cameron or Ver Steeg - and missed out. At the same time, it's kind of hard to believe whoever we were going after would have made their decision while they were basically still in the locker room after the loss.

Either way, I don't think it's a bad hire by any means. I think he brings a pretty creative, multiple attack, which I really like. I think we'll run more of a pro style run attack, with a true FB with Prosch, and Lutz won't have to block as much as he did last year. Not to say Malzahn didn't run between the tackles, but I think we'll do a good bit more of QB under center plays.

He did no such thing. 1. He has no say so as to who starts at QB at Auburn. 2. All he said was, with a good spring practice, Frazier could be the starter.

That's a little better. Mallett was pretty good, at least once Patrino got a hold of him.

I like the quote, unfortunately I'm not sure what an NFL observer is. I mean I'm an NFL observer.

Best question that can be answered in a hiring process is would the prior company want them back.

http://umgoblue.com/...le-m162841.aspx

I think we hired a coach with a proven record of developing QBs, has recruting ties in the southeast(especially Florida), experience as a college OC and NFL assistant is a little thin.
Looking foward to what CSL can accomplish on the Plains, well aboard coach.

Little doc

I hope they are right but the reality is if you don't name your source it might as well be fiction. Look at all the unnamed sources last year that knew something damning about Cam. They all proved to be fiction.

That's stupid.

But maybe you were trying to be funny so I will just say it wasn't funny.

Yeah but you don't get paid for it.
