It would be nice to get Lawson in as well. Remind him why he committed and all...

Remind us all, exactly what it was, that got us in trouble w/ the 1st BC weekend ? Something about posting names and places or events and such ?

It was assistant coaches being present at a mock celebration at Toomer's Corner when prospect's names were announced. So, unless Trooper and Luper are going to be there with Trooper's alleged hookers and Luper will bring the bagman with his untold millions, and the troupe of Trooper's hookers shout the prospect's names out while Troop and Lupe are there we've got no problem.

In any case, it had nothing to do with message board postings.

I vaguely recall there being something about some web site announcing the time and place of an event, with names of recruits, and for folks to show up. Do I have my facts wrong here?

And who'll be passing out the unlimited debit cards, to the first 10 verbal commits ? :gofig:

A web site may or may not have announced it, but that was not the problem. The problem was Trooper Taylor being present at the mock celebration when the guy's names were called out. No Trooper there, no NCAA problem. Trooper there=problem.

Well, maybe I'm misremembering , or perhaps it was reported erroneously, ( wouldn't be the first time ).

Trooper had to sit out part of the next recruiting session, he couldn't recruit off campus for X number of days as AU's punishment for the introductions at Toomer's Corner during the first Big Cat. No other AU coach was there so there was no other punishment.

Update:

Quote

AUBURN, Alabama -- Some of the top players in Alabama and Georgia and beyond will begin arriving as early as today for Auburn's Big Cat IV, the Memorial Day recruiting event that produced 37 signees the last three years.

The weekend could see 30-or-so visitors, including seven of the nine players already committed to Auburn. Five of those are rated with four or five stars by Scout.

Some of the bigger uncommitted names visiting for the 2013 signing class are five-star defensive tackle Montravius Adams, four-star cornerback Jalen Ramsey and four-star running back Tyshon Dye. There will likely be late additions for the weekend that Auburn coaches say is about bonding with fellow recruits and coaches rather than the Xs and Os of football.

"I'm going to encourage them to come to Auburn," committed defensive end Carl Lawson told AuburnUndercover.com. "It just helps for your team to be better. Whatever I can do to help, I'm willing to do."

Some players will be leaving Saturday, others Sunday.

We checked our recruiting friends at Inside the Auburn Tigers and AuburnUndercover.com and AuburnSports.com and came up with these names:

Big Cat visitors
*QB Jeremy Johnson, Montgomery
*DL Dee Liner, Muscle Shoals
*LB Trey Johnson, Central Gwinnett, Ga.
*DE Carl Lawson, Milton, Ga.
*K Jimmy Hutchinson, Harrison, Ga.
*WR Earnest Robinson, Pinson Valley
*CB Kamryn Melton, Dothan
DT Montravius Adams, Dooly County, Ga.
CB Jalen Ramsey, Brentwood, Tenn.
RB Ryan Green, St. Petersburg, Fla.
RB Tyshon Dye, Elberton, Ga.
ATH Jason Smith, Mobile
TE Arshad Jackson, Lovejoy, Ga.
WR Isaiah Jones, Milton, Fla.
ATH Lemond Johnson, Cooper City, Fla.
CB Cameron Sutton, Spanish Fort
*Committed to Auburn

There will also be at last eight players being recruited for the 2014 signing class, including defensive end Rashaan Evans, the son of former Auburn running back Alan Evans; and Blaise Taylor, the son of Auburn receiver coach Trooper Taylor.
