  1. The first part of you're post was dumb. Like, real dumb. I'm not upset about him not coming aboard but to downgrade probably the third best QB in Auburn history is crazy. Still love ya though SMT. No hard feelings bro. Just my opinion. However, Pat Sullivan, Cam Newton, Jason Campbell, and Reggie Slack laugh at DC being the 3rd best QB in Auburn history. Seriously the guy completed less than 55% of his passes and being 18-7 as a starter and throwing 17 TDs to 15 pics his senior year hardly qualifies DC as great in my book. Heck outside of the '97 UGA game and the SECCG that year, Craig under

  3. Ahhh... Dameyune Craig. The most overhyped QB in Auburn history whose greatest feat on the FB field was ALMOST beating UT. No reason to hang our heads over this one. Hopefully Gus can find us another top notch recruiter and maybe one who doesn't have to smear his alma mater's name to recruit against them.
  4. I totally agree with this post! Love how people like to compare Kirby to Muschamp but over look Kevin Steele, Sal Sunseri, and Derek Dooley. All of who got their asses fired for failing miserably after leaving the Saban tit. Btw, Muschamp also coached under Tubs as well. Who says Tubs doesn't get credit for Will considering Muschamp is the only Saban disciple that has been successful? As for the false sense that Kirby would be given full control. He is Pat Dye #1 choice and has been from the get go.
  5. Like I said guys I was one of Gus biggest fans while he was here and one of the few telling people be careful what you wish for when they were saying they were glad to get back to "smashmouth football" as he was walking out the door. However, now is not the time to be bringing Gus back. This is probably the biggest HCing hire in my lifetime. Noway we should (and I say this with all due respect to Gus) be taking a B list guy and making him our #1 target.
  6. How many of those guys are responsible for bringing a NC to Auburn? How many of them are responsible for bringing a NC anywhere? You're not thinking. Is he bringing Cam with him as well?
  7. BP is a much better play caller then JF imo. Jimbo was not calling plays at Auburn in the mid nineties that was tot's brother. Point is they pretty much run the same O. 2 back shotgun with 3 wideouts.
  8. So in 2011 Malzhan and Roof were the problems and in 2012 it was all Chizik instead. How about we just keep our hands washed from all of them?
  9. How did Roof's D look this year when his D wasn't on the field every other 2 minutes?
  10. Considering both guys are offensive minded, can anyone here honestly tell me that they think Jimbo Fisher runs a better scheme and is a better play caller than Bobby Petrino? Noway Auburn should go back to the 2 back shotgun offense. Again, I saw plenty of it in the mid 90s.
  11. DyeHard...your statement is without merit. The spread doesn't have to involve a HUNH and frantic pace. You can huddle up and still use the spread. However, since we are talking about Gus, I'll leave this debate focused on high pace offenses. It is not "illogical" to believe you can have a good defense with a HUNH spread. I think your argument is that when scoring or not scoring, the HUNH allows less rest for your defense, due to shorter offensive possessions. Therefore, you believe that the HUNH spread results in our defense being too tired to play defense. This is a fallacy, perpetuat
  12. All of you guys that were on the old AE know how I felt about Gus. While others were clamoring for him to leave so AU could get back to old smash mouth football, I was one of the few that was disappointed in seeing him go. Hell my last thread on that site was, "One last ride on the Gus Bus." However, now is not the time to be bringing Gus back to Auburn. Auburn needs a coach that identifies the weakness of a D and schemes to attack those weaknesses. We wont get that with Gus. Instead we will get an O that is predicated on wearing a defense out with its frantic pace. Yeah, it looks good when i
  13. Seriously Auburn? Tater Tot 2.0? Hell no! I seen enough of the 2 back shotgun offense in the mid 90s to last me a lifetime.
  14. Past 5 years??? Didn't a Jimbo coached team lose to Virginia last year and get mopped by Florida this year? Jimbo has a 3 and 5 record against top 25 teams and one of the wins that I give him credit for was over a highly overrated 2010 Miami team. No ACC title either??? I don't even recall his offenses in 2008 and 2009 blowing up scoreboards in the mighty defensive ACC. I would take BP over JF in a heart beat Auburn has been after those two guys the last two and a half hires. Now one, possibly both of them want the job. One of them will get it. Past 5 years??? Didn't a Jimbo coac
