  1. Total team collapse. Yes the season has been better but the performance tonight was 2012-esque. Serious regression over the last 5 games with simple fundamentals bad and getting worse (dumb penalties, really poor tackling, dropped balls-hell, you name it). Ready for the season to draw to a merciful close
  2. Don't remember watching an AU team give up (even through some tough times in the 70s) in my lifetime until the past 5 years or so. It's been a disturbingly frequent occurrence in th past few years. Maybe somebody did sell there soul to the devil for 2010. They are in absolute free fall.
  3. This is Exhibit A for a person that hates bama more than they love Auburn. It was said tongue in cheek. Don't ever question my love for Auburn-graduated from there (twice), have supported Auburn emotionally my entire and financially for a very long time. Try not to be so sanctimonious and people will take you more seriously. A. It's not as if this sentiment hasn't been expressed in total seriousness dozens of times already. Tongue in cheek doesn't translate well in print. B. I don't know you from Adam's house cat, so I can only go by what you post. Based on that, and the fact that sarcasm is much less obvious without being able to see facial expressions or hear your voice, I had ever reason to question your love for Auburn compared to your hatred of bama. I assumed hyperbole would be easily recognized, but seeing some of the other posts on this board your point is taken. I will attempt appropriate emoji utilization for clarification in the future.

  5. I don't care if it would grant Auburn national championships every year in perpetuity, I won't pull for Bammer. If they win and it helps AU great but if they lose....even better. War Damn Eagle.
  6. I thought we needed to sign 28 linebackers?
  7. We are "out" whether we care to admit it or not. Since the LSU game we have not played the caliber football to justify being considered for the playoff and got the loss yesterday to seal it. We can hope to win out, which seems unlikely, but even then I doubt we'd make the playoff. That's just reality.
  8. 75,58,94,68,71,76- those are the lengths of drives we gave up for points yesterday. Find me a team whose defense surrenders that and still wins. Not going to happen very often. Throw in a special teams TD against us and the fact that we even had a chance to win is miraculous. Offensive mistakes at the end were painful to watch but the bottom line is this: our defense is atrocious, has been for about 6 years now and there doesn't appear to be a quick fix. Ellis Johnson does not appear to be the answer at DC and it sounds like there may be other staff issues as well. Until the D is fixed we will be left watching very entertaining football on offense but will be hard pressed to compete at a championship level consistently (like the team across the state, painful as that is to admit).
  9. 13 but that is still a positive. 6-check a box score
  10. I'm not seeing many positives listed here. Maybe you should try another thread.
  11. The defense stinks but has since 2009-under multiple coordinators and head coaches. It's not all on EJ but the buck stops there. It's getting really frustrating to think that we have to score every possession to win a game against a decent opponent.
  12. Sorry I doubted you bud. You were right all along. Defense is lost mdg929 Both the offense and the defense are responsible for this loss. It's unfair to put all the blame on the defense. We scored 38 points and lost. And the offense is responsible how.......?

  14. Anyone ready to talk about how the defense is really ok after all now.
  15. There is a difference, however, in saying that there was a lucky play and saying that we won the game because of luck. That was a lucky play, had it not been for that lucky play we would not have won. I would say if Auburn had not been up by 20 in the 4th quarter we would not have won and, if Dee Ford doesn't make the play on Murray in the end we would not have won but we were;leading by 20 and Dee Ford did make the play and Auburn won the game. Its never about one play my friend. Thanks for that really insightful observation my friend.
  16. Completing a 70+ yard pass that bounces off of two defenders into our receivers hands on 4th and 18 is lucky regardless what happened before or after the play. There's no shame in admitting that. Luck is a part of the game no matter the sport.

Love Grant and he's blazing fast but limited-has poor vision and no elusiveness.
  18. McCready is a tool, who cares what he thinks. UGA last year- lucky. Bammer and Ole Miss-good football plays made at crucial moments, not luck.
  19. Awesome pics and analysis. If Marshall makes the correct read(s) this looks unstoppable.
  20. They have every reason to be confident with the team they are fielding Saturday. If Auburn doesn't play its best game of the year to date we will be traveling back to Auburn Saturday pm as losers.
  21. Your Friday happy hour must have lingered into the evening.... Read just the capital letters.....
  22. I did too until I re-watched Kirk's film. Kid's electric, would be a great get. Would be ecstatic with either, though.
  23. When was he "muffing every punt"? He had some muff problems when he first started punt returns a few years back (which is likely part of why Chris Davis was able to take his place last season). But his hands seem to be more than fine now, especially after watching him yesterday. His main problem was running "east-west" instead of exploding upfield like we saw him do yesterday. I think watching Chris Davis be so effective last year really helped him. Glad to see him reaching his potential-hope he starts getting the ball more with his reliable hands as a receiver.
