Well, he's definitely in the right offense for him!

It is an easier throw but also more bad things can happen if not completed.
We all saw how inaccurate Trevor was throwing to sidelines on the move with LSU chasing after him.  Not comparing the two but it is a difficult throw, especially on the run.

You really think Gus can attract talent like that?    Honestly?

My honest thought:  he and Chad Morris are trying to agree and hire someone.  Between a recently fired HC and Gus' own reputation, he is struggling to hire a good OL coach.  That's my take.

Kodi already is occupying the "Co-OC" position.  Hard to get a lateral move here.

U can call him a running game coordinator if that is an issue.

Chizik had it made.  The 'cruitin machine was in full gear, his position coaches were mostly very good, and he had Cam Newton and a MNC to dominate the recruiting trail with.

How do you screw something up that badly?

    His D coaches stunk

SIAP but why did Saban go so ballistic when they added the second at the end of the first half?  He looked like he was going to have a heart attack.

    What was his argument??

    Cause he is a whiner.

If they would have spotted the ball with 1 sec on clock it would have been impossible to get our FG team on the field and get a kick off.  As it was, they did a review to see if there should have been a sec on clock and to get Bama back on field.    Gave us time to get set up and kick.

I don't think anyone hates Gus. In fact, most of his ardent critics agree he is a good man that runs a good program and they wish he could have great success at AU. However a single win doesn't mask the same deficiencies we've had for the the past 5 years.  It was a fun game and a great win though.

Every time I start to lean a way he pulls something like yesterday and and pulls me back.

    Two biggest things for me:

    1.   We are AU and should have a great RB at all times, no excuses.  I don’t get this recruiting fail. I love Bobbie but if we had Carnell last night he would have rushed for 250

    2.  I think it was Gus, had a weird point on the post game show - that he really got confidence in our WR after the Ga game.   I think our WR’s have played well so why just now?

Schwartz sprained his knee. He should be ok. Needs to get ready for track.

M Hill banged up, should be ok.

    lots of cramps tonight.

anybody specifically you were thinking of?

Marlon was limping all over the field so he’ll need to heal up.   DB seemed ok after his injury

The field was the worst I’ve ever seen, not sure if that was reason for so many injuries on both sides

He's had 7 years. In those 7 years, we have recruited well on offense. Developed? Not so much. Again though, that is on Gus. Offense is Gus' bread and butter and the reason he was hired in the first place. Why are we having issues on offense? Because he is stubborn and hasn't shown the ability to adapt and evolve his offense. So, the fix shouldn't be wait longer.

Also, we wouldn't be starting over. Gus has laid a very solid foundation. We are in a much better place now than when Gus took over. Just like UGA was after Richt and LSU was after Miles. We are poised to take the next step. However, Gus has proven that he is more inclined to trip than take the next step forward.

I agree, not denying that.  I do believe that is the underlying excuse for not making a change

We don't beat them on the regular now. Gus is a known commodity and that commodity provides poor results. Why settle with something that you know can't get the job done? Take a risk, move forward, and change the future.

I agree, the problem is obviously the fear of the unknown.  This year we are not beating our big 3 (4) but we’re close...

If Gus would have been able to recruit on the O side (like we have on the D) we’d be splitting these games with the top 3 (4).    So the thought is fix that and we can win.

Is Gus evolving easier than starting over?

then you have to ask well where was this two weeks ago against Georgia or a month ago against florida and lsu

I think UF was one of those games that (even tho we were better) we were not winning.  With Gameday and the atmosphere there it was tough situation.

UF and UGA are different.   Not because I think we are bette, but I did not feel during the games our O had any shot at winning

I do wish, however, they would keep their hands off of the knowledgeable posters who have graced our site in the past. I appreciate our mods addressing the issue by banning the most offensive abusers.

Not regarding Coach or Stat.  But with some are they posting facts or opinions.   Opinions are what should be discussed or questioned.

Rankings mean nothing. If you watched both games, Auburn clearly had better athletes than LSU and Florida. We should be 8-0. Just because Gus Malzahn tends to use his opponent's rankings as an excuse for losses doesn't mean we should.

With each passing day it gets more frustrating. Anthony Schwartz got the ball 1 time at Florida. ONE. ONE TIME. This insanity is so unfair to the players and fans. Gus has to go.

You think we have better athletes than LSU?    Fla no doubt we did, I think that was just one of those Saturday’s that was gonna be very difficult to win because of the atmosphere.
