  1. I seriously hope CGM means he is going to let them MMA style fight for the job. We need some mean on that line!
  2. USC, Notre Dame, LSU, Ohio St. I give you the 4 playoff teams from now till eternity. First out for eternity will be some TX team.
  3. There are only about 3 coaches that would unify this base. 1 is Saban, 2 is Lincoln Riley, 3 is the Bear. We all compare ourselves to that team across the state. Those who are adamant about firing Gus have pushed everyone else into a corner creating 2 factions. Flex said it best already. It is almost exactly like politics at the moment - the extremes have taken over and everyone in the middle has been forced to choose a side or get mocked by everyone. Me personally - I do not believe Gus will get us to the top, let alone keep us there. We will be a perennial pain in the buttocks for the cream of the crop. I have seen too much now to believe that he will adequately develop a QB (or maybe it is more about the passing schemes?). I just worry that we could very well end up like TN. If you fire an 8-9 win coach then you better have a 10-11 win coach lined up or we are right back here. The worst are the people that are staunch fire Gus guys that "just want anyone else". I would be real careful what you wish for in this case. I had rather at least have a chance.
  4. Our LBs better eat their Wheaties and get ready to cover slants and seams. Not sure if anyone else noticed, but LSU had one play they ran over and over against Ms St. PA where TE blocks for one second then rolls out to the flats coupled with a double move on the outside. Play worked 3 times that I saw.
  5. I never like to hear "back to basics". Especially with a senior line. The quote above about all the third and shorts we failed to convert just goes back to what Bird has said.....our offensive line is the sweetest in the nation. It is like they said "excuse me, can we run the ball?". We don't need basics - we need a team psychologist.
  6. Drink every time you here "1999". On second thought, I love you all, please don't.
  7. I wonder if he is referring to the Cox pirouette?
  8. FL is going to win this one going away. I am pulling for a close game to keep my interest.
  9. You have a 1 in 1,024 chance of guessing correctly.
  10. Welcome to the internet - where you WILL be corrected when wrong and possibly when right.
  11. I was just having a bit of mean fun before his commitment! 😃
  12. Well that is not the news you want to hear right before someone is going to commit. How did Ohio State suddenly become a factor?
  13. You could seriously shuffle 6-16 and rationalize it.
  14. I really don't want it to be negative. I am very happy he is considering us. Truth is - he MAYBE just got his driver's license. He will be HEAVILY recruited non-stop. Even if he signs with us I will be absolutely shocked if he doesn't waiver on his commitment - and I will not blame him! Even though it is to the good guys I think these guys should wait unless they are just die hard bama hating, bulldog kicking Auburn fans.
  15. I'm just leaving this comment here to come back and look at in 3 years. In before "We didn't want him anyway". Seriously though, a lot will change in 3 years. Hope this sticks, but kids this young should wait. Sounds like he committed to the coaching staff and everyone he mentioned could very well be gone in 3 years regardless of how the next couple of seasons play out.
  16. Wow - one of the last posts I made from my old job. I was trying to remember the last time I even typed "Lobos"....then I saw the date of the post!
  17. I dunno - a couple of days off for mental anguish, a safe place, and some crayons isn't sounding bad. Do I also get to make-up a fake hate crime? At the very list I WILL where a blue D*** Hat. Probably just make me look like a cold bammer.
  18. Does the Saban Coaching Rehabilitation Clinic extend to basketball?
  19. I just wish we would acknowledge and address the easy issue. China. The entire country is an environmental black hole. The Earth is warming. I will only argue that it is not "12 years till doomsday". The thing is - it is a GLOBAL issue. Even applying simple good management practices in China would do more good than anything we could do here short of completely shutting down power plants. Real life example: Pipe making (Steel/Iron) We all hear about China dumping pipe in America. They make lots of it and cheap. Pipe making is a "dirty" process that takes a lot of heat (melting/casting/annealing). Approximately speaking, China produces 130 standard lengths of pipe for every 100 good pieces. That is a scrap rate of 30%. Those 30 pieces have to shredded, remelted, and recast. A place here in America that I know very well has a scrap rate of just under 3%. The difference comes down to quality over quantity based on management practices. The overwhelming majority of pipe produced in China is without control. Even if you did not apply control and only reduced the scrap rate - imagine the CO2 savings. Not to mention the other byproducts. This was my biggest beef with the Paris agreement. China (and others) have not even reached "peak" CO2 and do not plan to until 2030something. We have already reduced ours and the recent "increase" is due to more manufacturing here which is happening with better control than if these products were made elsewhere. We are still leading by example and now we do not have to send billions of dollars to an unelected bureaucracy for reasons unclear (somewhat).
  20. Unfortunately, you are right on the money in some respect. Anyone outside of a white male is a protected class and you are not allowed to disagree. Everyone conveniently leaves off the part of DJT's quote where he said, and I paraphrase, 'then come back and tell us how it is done'. He wasn't saying "get out people of color", he was obviously telling them to take their ideas back to their ancestral lands and try to make it work there where socialism has already failed then come back and tell us how it works. But, he said it to people of color and to a party with a single platform. Personally, I think it was a well crafted remark to force Nancy into taking their side. One of my favorite posters here (not being sarcastic), who I could not disagree more with, said that republicans have lied about cutting spending for 20 years. He is absolutely right. And it is going to take a strong, grounded, policy driven democratic party to force them to keep a promise of that magnitude because right now the RNC does not have to keep that promise.
  21. I had a lot of road time today and was listening the PF and he had a couple of guys who were close to him on the show. He had his demons and issues with confidence (especially at the NFL level) but may have been one of the most impressive athletes of his time. One thing that always bothered him, though he learned to deal with it, was people could not talk to him or about him without mentioning his weight. In the end he tried to make his weight loss battle public to help others and dropped about 80 lbs. He had, however, gained some of it back towards the end. Even with his struggles with over eating and other health issues, his death apparently still came as a shock. Just sad to hear. I will always remember that 7 overtime game with Arky and the dude he trucked to start his NFL career.
