  1. ***FINAL: Auburn 24 Mercer 10***

That's the thing though, Stidham had almost all day to make his throws. Most of the SEC defenses we have yet to face will be in his face in a fraction of that time, unless our O line improves dramatically.
  2. ***FINAL: Auburn 24 Mercer 10***

Yep, MSST is looking like world-beaters against LSU right now. Just went up 30-7. Wish our O looked half as good as theirs is looking tonight. Course, LSU aren't helping themselves very much. Over 100 yards in penalties with 2 of them negating scores and 2 targeting penalties resulting in ejections.
  3. FWIW.

Came real close to being asked to leave Wintzells Oyster House in Guntersville over this game. Alcohol + frustration watching the game (on a TV on their outdoor patio) led to some not-so-family-friendly language from me which caused quite a few shocked looks from other patrons. Definitely not one of my prouder moments as an AU fan.
  4. Note on statistical report cards

Interesting to know, appreciate you sharing your efforts with the rest of us Stat. I was in attendance at the Arky game last year, wish we could pull off an effort like that this year against ThuGA or the Updykes (preferably both).
  5. Next day...still just as angry

Two days later and I think I'm probably just as angry as NorthGATiger is, although he expressed that anger far better than I probably could have. Watching the game, I blurted out to my niece, "Why don't you come over here and kick your uncle in the crotch? It would take my mind off this crap - what I really wanted to say was 'shitshow' - and probably be far less painful." Her mom (my sister) and dad (bro-in-law) both laughed (they're both uat grads/fans) but then saw I was partly serious. At this point, I'd pay good money for someone down in Auburn to start heckling CGM the way that Cincinnati fan did Tuberville last year.
  6. Auburn vs. uat - game thread

Did aliens come down and abduct all knowledge of tackling from the D last night?
  7. Auburn vs Alabama 2002

I'm hoping the Defense can pull a repeat of the 2005 IB and put Hurts on his back at least 11 or 12 times.
  8. Was wondering if someone else was going to post about this. Not up to 50 posts yet so I couldn't start a new topic. Very sad but powerful. Thanks for getting it on the board.
  9. Auburn vs Alabama 2002

Let's hope so, I hope the plan is to utilize the hell out of him. Anything to give our O another chance to score against the Turds.
  10. Daniel Carlson - Vote now

Voted, best of luck to Mr. Carlson.
  11. Auburn vs Alabama 2002

Man, I wish we had a TE that was the size of R. Johnson. Hell, I wish we would just use a TE from time to time.
  12. To all of the Pessimists

I'll agree with you re: the dropped passes, those throws were decent enough that they should have been catches. And I love the fact that Sean is competitive and has a strong desire to win. But like @lca408 just said, ^^^ THIS
  13. To all of the Pessimists

Exactly. Like I mentioned, it was pretty apparent to a 13yo who doesn't even watch football that much. And while I'm not ready to run either White or CGM out of town like the OP thinks some are, I still think they both should have to answer some very tough WTF questions. As in (for White), WTF were you thinking not mentioning the fact that your injury had flared back up and you basically couldn't throw a weak punch much less a halfway decent pass? And for CGM, I hope someone, anyone who outranks him asks WTF dude?! Just WTF?! Please explain your thought processes going into the game and during the game!
  14. To all of the Pessimists

Sorry, just don't think it's pessimistic to expect certain coaches to realize that after oh, say the 3rd three-and-out series in the 2nd half SW was off and it was time to go to plan B. I also don't think it's pessimistic to criticize said coaches who, 10 games into a season, still don't have a backup QB who they trust to come in and manage the game. Let that little gem sink in for a minute, I know I sure dwelled on it for more than a few minutes over the weekend. 10 games into the season and AU's coaches apparently don't trust their #2 QB to throw the ball?!! The more that sunk in the more I was asking myself what kind of Bizarro World does AU's offensive staff live in... I posted in another thread that my 13yo nephew, after giving me a sympathy comment ("Wow, can't believe that AU lost, that sucks") goes on to remark that AU should have had both JJ and JF3 in the game in the 2nd half because SW couldn't throw. He said make UGA guess as to what the offense would do (a JF3 run or a JJ pass) as opposed to what they knew was coming with SW behind center. I thought the top of my head was going to pop off after hearing that. Mind completely blown that a 13yo who doesn't watch much football even though he loves to play it (plays for his middle school) understands a concept aka an adjustment that a coaching staff who are paid millions of $$$ can't seem to grasp.
  15. ***Auburn 7 Georgia 13 - Postgame Thread***

Didn't quite know what to think after the loss Saturday - well, not much thinking was being done mostly blind rage. Was this execrable offensive display on the players - specifically, as some have mentioned, SW and the WRs - or on the coaching staff? Next day, I'm talking to my 13yo nephew who plays football for his school. He says something along the lines of "Wow, can't believe that AU lost, that sucks" (said because he knows that I'm a fan) and then goes on to remark that AU should have had both JJ and JF3 in the game in the 2nd half because SW couldn't throw. He said make UGA guess as to what the offense would do as opposed to what they knew was coming with SW in. i thought the top of my head was going to pop off after hearing that. Mind completely blown that a 13yo who doesn't watch much football even though he loves to play it understands a concept (aka an adjustment) that a coaching staff who are paid millions of $$$ can't seem to grasp. All I've got to say at this point is that if somebody gave CGM the treatment that Tuberville was given a week or so ago, I'd probably have to buy them several of whatever their favorite adult beverage is.
