  1. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. If it’s an AF family thing, it’s a WF family thing too. 🤷‍♂️
  2. I mentioned Rhule. I like him a lot! Yes. What he did at those 2 schools is impressive! And he can sell NFL experience to recruits. I’m liking Stoops more the more I think about it. I think he could turn AU around much quicker because of the level of recruits he could reel in, using the portal and NIL money. That wasn’t an option when he started at UK. And of course I still like Coach Prime. He has an extremely high ceiling.
  3. I would go further than that. bama and uga have proven they are beatable. We should be noticeably better than everyone else on our schedule. Down year for LSU, TAMU will always be talented and severely overrated as long as Jimbo is there. Arky is decent but not close to elite. MS schools are better but still MS schools. We’re staring a 3-9 season in the face when decent coaching and a few upgrades could’ve gotten us to 10 wins. 🤦‍♂️😢
  4. No way he gets off the hook this week. Let him take his butt whipping next week in Athens!!! Then probably a pretty good whipping the next week. Then fire him. Give the interim a bye week before the final 5 games. With our talent, some competent coaching, and a renewed shot of motivation, we might be able to win a couple of games down the stretch. Maybe even a long shot at 3 out of the last 5 to become bowl eligible and get those extra practices. 🤷‍♂️
  5. As a 45 year old, myself, this is my favorite comment in your post. 😁 I like Aranda a lot! I didn’t mention him in my list because I didn’t think he was a very realistic hire. But it would definitely be worth a call to see if we could make him interested $!
  6. Random thoughts: 2nd half and especially 4th Q stats come down to depth and coaching. That explains why we’re so abysmal in the 2nd half! We’re low on quality depth and our coaches can’t adjust once the other team has made their adjustments. Anyone close to JSU or the SWAC is going to say Deion isn’t going anywhere because Deion is doing a fantastic job of selling the program and getting buy in from his players, staff, admin, and fans. I believe he has the drive to really be successful at a high level of coaching. Therefore I believe it’s only a matter of when and where he makes the jump to P5 football at a program that can win big! If UA, beating saban, etc are factors, it’s hard to find a better option than AU. What happens with our AD situation in the next couple of weeks will speak volumes as to what the plan is moving forward.
  7. Rumors are swirling as to what happened that required @bigbird to need hand surgery. I also heard that @augolf1716 is so old he pre-ordered the Bible.
  8. After this last coaching search and hire, I’m a little skiddish of names out of left field no one has mentioned. OK, I’m very skiddish!😬 Of those, NCSU guy sounds interesting. @bigbird, care to elaborate on some of the guys you mentioned?
  9. I didn’t mention Aranda on my list because I don’t think it’s as likely for us to get him as the others on my list. But it wouldn’t hurt to make the call. I wouldn’t have though BK would’ve left ND to go to LSU, but here we are….
  10. Yeah, I don’t get it. He has had success. But it’s a hard pass for me. I don’t think he has the drive to do it at this level anymore. He’s backed out a few times already! And I don’t think he would be a good fit at AU anyway.
  11. He’s doing a great job selling his program!!! Which he will also do wherever he goes next. Secondly, $ is not going to be the biggest factor for him. He’s looking for the right opportunity. AU has a lot to offer. Maybe we’re the kind of opportunity he’s looking for. 🤷‍♂️ What Dabo did at Clemson can be done even greater at AU! I agree with your last point. Other good coaches have passed on AU because of our PTB. However, winning fixes everything. The PTB at bama were similar before saban. Once he started winning, they got out of his way.
  12. Jeff Grimes! (I know you know that. You just wanted someone to answer it out loud. 😁)
  13. Ok, so I don’t really have a #1 right now. My tier 1 I think we should definitely call Deion and try to get an interview with him. He could play the recruiting and free agency game in a way that we could turn this thing around very quickly. He appears to be doing all the right things. The only concern is he hasn’t done it at this level YET. (I think it’s only a matter of when and where) I like Monken. He’s been in the NFL and some of the best college teams in the country, so he knows what it takes. As a HC, he turned USM from 0-12 to conference champs in 3 years. I think he would be a very good hire. I like Rhule. He was probably my top choice 2 years ago. He may want to get back in the college game after his stint at Carolina. Teir 2 I think Stoops is a great coach, but he’s not as high on my list because he might test our patience before having success. But he is a proven program builder. I like Grimes a lot. The one concern with him is the lack of HC experience. Im not opposed to Freeze or Kiffin. They have their pluses and minuses. I was high on Matt Campbell last go around too. I haven’t heard anything about him this time. 🤷‍♂️
