AU/TENN on ESPN?

I see where ESPN has picked up the AU/TENN game:

Tigers Vs. Vols Scheduled For ESPN

Auburn, Ala.--ESPN had first selection of any SEC game to pick for the weekend of Oct. 2nd and that television network will feature Auburn’s road trip to Knoxville to play the Tennessee Volunteers.

What confuses me is I thought CBS had the SEC contract and got 1st pick of which game to show. When did this change?

Don't get me wrong, ESPN fine with me. I just don't remember ESPN ever getting 1st pick.

I believe they picked LSU/UGA, which will be a good game, too.

CBS and ESPN both have contracts for SEC games. CBS more opportunities to have first pick during the season, but on some weeks, the first pick will fall to ESPN. Oct 2nd is one of those weeks and they snatched the AU-UT game up leaving LSU and UGA to CBS.

I believe that CBS had picked the LSU-GA game preseason which left Auburn-Tenn available to ESPN.

Well, the article up top says that ESPN had first pick this week and grabbed AU-UT, which left UGA-LSU for CBS to take second.

i am relieved to know that ESPN had first pick. i thought CBS always did. i was pissed b/c i thought AU was once again getting the 'national shaft'. whew! the saturday nite ESPN crew is the best in the biz. i wish i could be there. war damn eagle!

CBS had the first pick, ESPN had the 2nd, and then CBS picked third. That is why we get ESPN. CBS's third pick was Ark./Fla.

who cares...I hate CBS anyways. they are not a good football network at all. I'm just glad I go to the games and don't have to watch them from home.
