Mike4AU 1,739
I am looking for a hi-def DVD (or at least 480p) of the LSU game. If you have one, I would like to buy a copy. Please PM me. Thanks!

Mike4AU 1,739
Let me see if I can address the questions. 480p = 480 vertical pixels that are progressively scanned. The native resolution of DVD is 480p, but that resolution can be seen only if a DVD player outputs a progressive-scan signal and the DTV has progressive-scan or component-video inputs; it is also known as EDTV (enhanced TV). So, one does not need an HDTV to view 480p..one does need at least an EDTV. And 480p is not HD--the minimum for HD is 720p (or 1080i). Moreover, a progressive scan DVD player will not convert DVD's into HD. Now that lots of folks are confused, I still would like an HD DVD of the LSU game. HD recorders are still too expensive for my pocketbook, but now that there are a bunch of sporting events, movies, etc. in HD, I guess I will just have to bite the bullet and get one. BTW, I am fairly confident that a recording of the game in SD (standard def), then burned onto a DVD will not result in 480p (I am pretty sure it would be 480i).
