Arik Armstead

This reminds me of the Cyrus 2 day waiting period we had last year after he announced he was coming to Auburn.

It def has that vibe to it. I've been thinking the same thing.

One difference though is that our principal challenge is from ND.  Don't know much about their staff or recruiting tactics.  Last year, you just knew the crimson crowd was going to pull something - and they did.  Maybe it won't be the same with Armstead.  We'll see.

The days of honest recruiting went out the door the day Bear Bryant started recruiting.

Long before that. He just perfected the tactics.

Truer words have never been spoken.

What the REC did to John Thrower alone speaks volumes to the level they will stoop when someone calls them out on their ruthless recruiting tactics. Think how much they have refined their tactics since 1997.

When Armond and Mr. Armstead return to CA from Notre Dame tomorrow they "will all sit down and make a decision." Do the plane-watchers among us track commercial flights so we know the timing?  :)

I wonder if they are Catholic? That could make a difference...just wondering?

I've wondered the same thing. I don't know definitively but after searching around and not finding anything about it that kind of leads me to believe that they are not but idk

Well many Catholics don't view ND as a Catholic University anymore.

There was a post on TOS credited to the Sacremento newspaper that said Arik's father and brother were flying back to California this morning, and they would discuss this as a family before deciding.  TIFWIW, but if true, it could be later this afternoon before we hear anything - it at all today.  Is today the last day he can enroll at AU for the spring semester?

You're funny.  Not a single person has had any info even indicating that they were AU bound.  So your statement is a farce and you are for some reason trying to discredit a poster who has had good info in the past.

Get over yourself and let people ask legitimate questions to individuals besides trying to step in and try to make some ridiculous point about who someone should believe.  Go to bed.

Looks like another day where I am going to be on AE way too much... Be interesting to see how this plays out regardless...

In the mean time, I'd like the deacons to please escort this gentlemen/lady next door to the church of the "Debby's Downers." It appears they would be right at home there... If it wasn't for bad luck, AU would have no luck at all...

It seems we have another one on a crusade of doom and gloom... Or in being a so called realist...

I'm catholic also but ND doesn't run their university in accordance with church doctrine so that is why many catholics don't view it as a Catholic university anymore. That's a topic for another board though. Don't want to hijack this one.

I agree. I didn't see anything wrong with what 87 posted last night anyway.

Question about Armond.....

He played for USC in 2008, 2009, 2010...but did not play in 2011 due to medical.  Would he not have been entitled to a medical redshirt?  I am very unclear as to the NCAA rules on this.

Seems that if USC had no intention to play him that would be the case, then wouldn't he still have 2 years of eligibility left?

If so (and I am not very knowledgeable in this area) this could be the "loophole" Auburn is looking at....maybe something from the NCAA??

Ok....my question got lost in the chatter.....can anyone answer my question from last night??
