With as many big play guys as we have, I was shocked to read this. Not a single AU receiver on the SEC top ten. That just tells me that NO ONE in the SEC knows whats coming or who to prepare for!!!!!!!

Keep it coming Borges!!!

Rainman,

Good observation and point. I think it's great that we don't have a so called "go-to" guy at receiver, where an opposing defense can scheme to shutdown, like Ronnie Daniels.

Since 1987, Auburn's offense has averaged at least 7 players per season, with one play of 30-yards or more. This year we have ten different players on offense with at least one play of 30-yards or more. Carnell Williams isn't on the list of ten just yet.

During the 2002 season, Auburn had 14 different players with at least one big play on offense. A good offensive coach utilizes all of the weapons at his disposal and Borges is clearly doing this in 2004.

Great observation, Rainman. Although it seems like Courtney Taylor is becoming JC's favorite go-to guy, check out the distribution of passes so far this season:

RECEIVING GP No. Yds Avg TD Long Avg/G

------------------------------------------------------

Courtney Taylor 7 20 340 17.0 3 39 48.6

Ben Obomanu 7 16 230 14.4 6 37 32.9

Anthony Mix 7 15 191 12.7 2 58 27.3

Ronnie Brown 6 15 132 8.8 0 38 22.0

Devin Aromashodu 7 12 313 26.1 2 67 44.7

Carnell Williams 7 9 44 4.9 1 19 6.3

Cooper Wallace 7 7 111 15.9 0 31 15.9

Silas Daniels 7 6 143 23.8 1 87 20.4

Carl Stewart 7 5 93 18.6 0 35 13.3

This doesn't bode well for opposing defenses. Courtney has the most receptions. Ben has the most TDs. Devin has the longest reception. Mix isn't too far behind. Ronnie & Carnell catching passes out of the backfield? {Day-yum!} Cooper Wallace is there every game. And hey, Carl Stewart is getting some early training for next year to pick up where Ronnie left off ...

They have to pick who they want to stop and it's kind of meaningless to say they'll concentrate on everybody. :D WDE :au:
