Big Play Defense

One of the improvements Coach Chizik wanted this season was the increase in "big plays". Turnovers and sacks are the impact plays on defense and we have improved in both categories. Here are the average number of plays allowed by our defense before we force a turnover or sack the opposing QB.

For those who recall the 94 defense, we led the SEC in sacks and interceptions that season. We had 42 sacks and 22 picks, giving Auburn a combined 33 forced turnovers in 1994.
