Total yardage was virtually dead even.

Both teams struggled on 3rd down conversions.

The difference in the game....

1) Field position: Auburn's average field position was their own 39. The Rebels started at their own 19. Ten of the Rebel's 15 possessions started at their own 20 or worse. AU started 5 possessions on the Rebel's side of the field.

2) Average yards on firstdown:

AU averaged 9.97 yards on 1st down, holding the Rebs to 3.55 yards on 1st down plays. The Tigers had 11 plays of at least 10-yards on 1st down and the Rebels had only 4.

I thought the difference was Auburn's offensive line being much superior to Ole Mrs's o line. Ole miss couldnt run block or pass block. seven sacks? come on...but on the flip side, JC had all day and the running backs werent making moves until 5 yards up field because of all the holes blown up for them by the oline.

Of course, it certainly didn't hurt that we were able to turn our worst field position of the night into a 99+ yd. touchdown drive!

Thanks for coming through with the digits once again, Stat.
