Someone had asked about the records of USC and OU in relation to AU...here it is:

USC opponets W-L: 42-38

Key wins over then ranked: #7 Cal and #19 Arizona St

OU opponents W-L: 48-33

Key wins over then ranked: #5 Texas, #20 Oklahoma St, #22 Texas A&M

AU opponets W-L: 33-44

Key wins over then ranked: #4 LSU and #8 UT

It's because we demoralize them. Their spirits are crushed after we slap them around and then let the scrubs slap them around in the second half. They're half the men they used to be after they play AU.

USC remaining opponents:

Arizona 2-7

Notre Dame 6-3

UCLA 5-4

OU remaining opponents:

Nebraska 5-4

Baylor 3-6

BIG 12 CG: (team with the best record right now is 5-4)

AU remaining opponents:

Georgia 7-1

Alabama 6-3

SECCG (UT is now 7-2 probably end up 9-2)

USC all opponents current W-L: 55-52

OU all opponents current W-L: 56-43 (plus CG = 63-43)

AU all opponents current W-L: 46-48 (plus CG = 55-48)

it's because we played some really awful out of conference teams. we make up the gap on ou in the next 3 games though: uga (should finish 9-2), bama (should be 6-5), and ut (should be 9-3) versus ou's games against nebraska (will finish 6-5 at best), baylor (will be 3-8), and iowa state (should be a solid 6-6). so that'll be 24-10 to 15-19. so we'll be right there neck and neck at the end.

This week's game against UGA will make our third team that we will have played that was ranked in the top 10 when we played.

Texas A&M loses to Baylor and they are still in the top 25. They lose to Oklahoma and drop 1 spot.. Ok State loses to OU and moves up one spot.

Tennessee and LSU loses to Auburn and drop like flies in the polls.

I find that interesting.

at the end of the year, we could have wins against uga (who will still be in the top 10), lsu (who should still be in the top 12ish), and two over ut who should still be top 20. that'll be more than anyone else in the running. add to that a bowl bound alabama and possibly ole miss. that's pretty tough with more impressive wins down the stretch. we may the be hot team to vote for.

The SEC has been a lot like the ACC this year, in SOME respects. You have teams beating up on each other. The big difference is that UGA and AU are still high in the polls and FSU, Miami, and UVA are out of the top 10, unlike a couple of weeks ago. The SEC is still the BEST conference in the country. UGA, AU can beat any team in the country.

The best thing AU can do is win out and focus on each game one at a time. Let the rest take care of itself.

OU was upset in the CG last year and I'm not overly impressed with USC and even though it hurt us initially that ND beat UT...it may end up helping in that ND gained confidence and allowed coach to breathe easier...an guess who they have in a few weeks....USC.

Heck is OU get's upset somehow (who really thought NC would beat Miami?) and ND were to pull another upset...you could be looking at Wisconsin/AU game again...and if we get upset along with the rest...Cal/Wis????? Remember football is a tough and rough spot and teams are getting tired down the stretch...

So let the chips falls where they may and whatever upsets occur, let 'em. Let's just be sure that they don't happen to US!!!!!! We gotta focus one game at a time.
