My girlfriend's dad gave us 50 yd line tickets. I remember thinking before the game there was no WAY #2 Bama was going to win that game. Bill Curry said he'd received death threats and a brick was thrown through his office window in Tuscaloser before the game so state troopers were practically clinging to him on the sidelines. The joke back then was the threats (if they really happened) were from Bama fans sick of his (what was soon to be) 0-11 against Auburn @ Georgia Tech, Bama & Kentucky.

My first taste of Auburn, AL, AU football, JHS, Toomer's Corner, and the Iron Bowl happened that day. My dad drove he and I 11 hours form our house to the Plains. I was spoiled on that day I've been hooked ever since.
