All 14 SEC coaches address the media every Wednesday during football season in the SEC coaches teleconference ...

Les Miles - LSU

Les Miles noted that this week's opponent, UAB, upset LSU "in the 2000s." Though left unsaid by Miles, that was during Nick Saban's tenure.

Steve Spurrier - South Carolina

Spurrier: "I just don't sense the hatred between Georgia and South Carolina that there is between Georgia and Florida."

...

Spurrier: "Georgia has so many rivals, that it's difficult for them to have a rivalry every week."

...

Spurrier: "We haven't beaten enough people to have all those rivalry-type games."

...

Spurrier said WR Bruce Ellington and TE Rory Anderson are good to go for Georgia.

@BarrettSallee

Will Muschamp - Florida

Will Muschamp says the Gators are getting healthier. DT Dominique Easley (illness) and OT D.J. Humphries (knee) are expected back at practice.

Florida-Miami was discontinued for a while when SEC expanded, but Muschamp remembers the rivalry from his youth: "It's been a fantastic series and we'll see where it goes after Saturday."

http://www.al.com/sp...ches_telec.html

Muschamp says this is the healthiest the team has been since spring ball. Worked out well with Miami up next

...

The UF-UM rivalry used to be pretty special so Muschamp has made sure his guys know the importance of the game for fans around the state

...

Still, I think Muschamp knows more about the rivalry than any of his players. Dante Fowler was in 9th grade last time these schools played

@AschoffESPN

Nick Saban - Alabama

Nick Saban says last week's win over Va Tech was a major wakeup call for players

...

Saban says the line probably didn't trust each other much once players got into a real game. Natural when you have new guys there

@AschoffESPN

Saban says RB Kenyon Drake and DB Geno Smith are "set to go."

...

Saban on Manziel: "They have a great quarterback who's a great competitor."

@BarrettSallee

Vinnie Sunseri, being the son of a coach, helps other players learn how to study film, Saban says, adding that Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Nick Perry do that some, too. "We've got some safeties who are really bright players."

James Franklin - Vanderbilt

James Franklin said WR Jordan Matthews is a great example of someone leaving everything on the field. He literally did against Ole Miss ...

@AschoffESPN

James Franklin: "There's some things we need to get corrected ... but the most important ingredient you've got to have as a football team is heart, and I think this football team has that."

...

Playing in-state non-conference opponents like Austin Peay: "If we're going to give money to somebody, I like to give it to people in our community."

...

*Franklin on addressing his team, and the media, after a loss like Ole Miss:"What you say in moments like that is so important. ... That's probably the most challenging thing for me because I am such an emotional guy."

http://www.al.com/sp...ches_telec.html

Butch Jones - Tennessee

On Western Kentucky: "I think their team speed is outstanding, and they're going to challenge you schematically."

...

On the running game: "We have to learn how to finish plays. I thought too many times our RBs bounced things east and west. We want to be a north-south football team."

http://www.al.com/sp...ches_telec.html

Butch Jones was just asked about Todd Helton's 2,500th career hit. He said he wrote him a "nice note."

@BarrettSallee

Hugh Freeze - Ole Miss

Hugh Freeze said even he was surprised at how well some of his true freshmen played in the opener against Vanderbilt

...

Freeze on Laquon Treadwell's debut: "I had no idea he was going to go out and have nine catches." Added he knew he had all the talent

@AschoffESPN

Freeze said he's been "extra-critical" this week in an effort to keep his team's mind on Southeast Missouri and not drifting two weeks ahead to Texas.

Gary Pinkel - Missouri

Gary Pinkel, on his relative lack of movement (he's spent most of his career in three places -- Washington, Toledo and Missouri): "One goal I had was to have all three of my kids graduate from the same high school, and we did that."

...

Pinkel says RB Henry Josey is "very close to being 100 percent."

...

Pinkel says QB James Franklin has become mentally tougher, more determined, and a better leader after going through an injury-riddled 2012.

Dan Mullen - Mississippi State

Even though Dak Prescott is more of a runner than Tyler Russell Dan Mullen says the offensive scheme won't change with Prescott

@AschoffESPN

Bret Bielema - Arkansas

On offensive balance: "I've always preached balance. I think a lot of times the run can set up the pass .. but on the same account, the part that's probably got me the most excited is the way (Javontee) Herndon caught the ball." Also praised Brandon Allen's play.

...

Bielema says Samford S Jaquiski Tartt (who went to Davidson High in Mobile) "definitely has an NFL future in front of him."

http://www.al.com/sp...ches_telec.html

Kevin Sumlin - Texas A&M

Asked about his relationship with Manziel, Sumlin speaks in generalities, saying his relationship with all his QBs has always been strong and has to be.

...

http://www.al.com/sp...ches_telec.html

Mark Richt - Georgia

Mark Richt, on Malcolm Mitchell's ACL injury: "Obviously when you lose Malcolm Mitchell it hurts. It definitely puts a dent in our depth. ... He's had a very positive and mature attitude about it. He realizes it's part of life and part of the game."

http://www.al.com/sp...ches_telec.html

Mark Richt: "I'm not going to be the celebration police." Despite Mitchell injury, not banning jumping chest bump celebration.

@coachingsearch

Mark Richt said there was nothing wrong with Clowney's conditioning or effort. Said he just ran out of energy after a fast starts

Gus Malzahn - AUBURN

Gus Malzahn says though he coached Arkansas State last year, the scheme will be different. He does know their players, though, obviously: "Those kids are very good players. They're used to winning."

http://www.al.com/sp...ches_telec.html

Malzahn: "We learned a lot about our team, which is good moving forward. ... We definitely have to play better if we want to win this week."

...

Gus Malzahn wants to run 80-plus plays per game and average 5-seconds per play, neither of which happened vs. Washington State.

...

Malzahn on Corey Grant & Nick Marshall: "We hope they compliment each other very well" as Marshall gets more comfortable within the offense.

...

Malzahn on Marshall: "We've got to help him out too, a lot of the stuff around him wasn't right. ... We've got to get better around him."

...

Malzahn on finding a go-to WR: "We're still defining who we are, but I'm confident someone will emerge."

@AUBlog

Malzahn reiterates that he knows a lot about the personnel, but the schemes at Arkansas State have changed.

...

Malzahn talks about 2007 meeting with Bryan Harsin, says he was very impressed with ASU Coach Bryan Harsin.

...

Malzahn, asked about his transition from high school to college, talks extensively about Todd Graham "letting me run an offense by myself."

...

Did not mention Houston Nutt.

@JoelAEricksonAU

Malzahn on previous meeting with Bryan Harsin: "I was very impressed with Bryan. We shared ideas and he's one of the best in the business."
