Carnell's Recruitment

Maybe this is old news for some of you, but the Huntsville Times today (Sat.) had an article that talked about how Francione snubbed Carnell in the recruiting process.

Francione was going to visit Croyle at Rainbow city and said he would stop by and see Carnell (in nearby Atalla). Well, the family got a little ticked that Croyle got visited first, but THEN Francione never showed up for Carnell and didn't even call. They were livid. Wrote uat off. I assume that's when TN got the verbal from Williams, before Tuberville showed up with the whole staff and wooed him away.

Found all this very interesting. Another reason for uat to hate Francione--as if they needed anything else.

Carnell wasn't going to bama either way. At the time we had Galloway, Beard and a STUD named Brandon Miree(who was supposed to be the next Alexander). Auburn had no sure starter at the rb position, and Tuberville promised him a chance to start right away. Also, the main reason Carnell signed with AU was because of his OC at Etowah Highschool. Coach Harmon is a BIG TIME AU fan and worked very hard all year to sell AU to Carnell.
