Hmm, I wasn't implying the position was less important. I was saying it was almost never left to a young guy. When it came to Center, Nall trusted really smart and experienced players more than pure talent. He was usually right. Dismukes was rare. He was a mix of both. He also had the fortune (or mis-fortune) of coming to Auburn when we didn't have good options at Center so he played because he was our best (and only) option. He would've benefited from having some time to develop before being thrust into the starting lineup.

I think I mis-understood what you were saying. I apologize. The other reason you normally don't start Freshman at Center is because so few High School centers are College Div. 1 Material so Center usually comes from a Kid who played Guard or Tackle in HS hence the learning period. I think we were all saying the same thing but approached it from a different direction.

Good job against the #1 D Lineman in the 2015 class.

Good job by Kim. He looks a lot smaller than Thompson.

He actually used the fact that he was smaller to his advantage. He get under the bigger man, kept his base low and solid and let the bigger man take himself out of the play. He could play Guard or Center. Very quick feet that he moved and kept spread so he always had the leverage.

What's odd is that they are both listed at 6'4" so either KK stays REAL low or that's not accurate. Also, TT has reached the 300 mark while KK is still hovering around 280. He'll need to add 20-25 lbs to deal with guys that size consistently. At 6'4" though, he has the frame to be a G or C.
