SEC 6 in top 25

The Auburn men's golf team has moved up to being ranked 12th nationally by Golfweek after being ranked 20th in the preseason. The Tigers are one of five SEC teams in the rankings.

The top-10 consists of Illinois, South Florida, Florida State, Baylor, LSU, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, SMU, Georgia and Virginia. UNLV is ranked 11th ahead of Auburn, California, South Carolina, TCU, Texas Tech, North Carolina, Winthrop, Stanford and Colorado to round out the top 20.

Wake Forest is ranked No. 21 followed by Alabama, Oklahoma, Clemson and Texas.

The Tigers, who tied for third at the season-opening Carpet Capital Collegiate Sept. 5-7, will compete at the Primland Collegiate Invitational in Meadows of Dan, Va., with 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.

AUBURN, Ala. –The Auburn men’s golf team is now ranked ninth nationally by Golfweek after recording the second lowest total at 37-under at the Primland Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday. The Tigers are among six SEC teams in the top-25.

The top-10 consists of Illinois, Florida State, Baylor, LSU, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, South Florida, SMU, Auburn and Stanford. Texas Tech is ranked 11th ahead of Georgia, Wake Forest, South Carolina, UCLA, New Mexico, Virginia, TCU, California and Oregon.

Alabama is ranked No. 21 followed by Kennesaw State, North Carolina, UNLV and Oklahoma.
