I was just about to post this.  I'm familiar with the Bill Gothard teachings (Institue in Basic Life Principles) and went to one of his seminars (all though I was more there to debunk his views on contemporary music (including Christian music) being evil than anything else).  We had some of his homeschooler folks in our church.  At the time I wouldn't have said they were weird or dangerous per se, just uber conservative, strict and legalistic.  But I wasn't as versed in the homeschool curriculum.  Wow.

And in most cases that's OK. Everyone is wired differently. If you like your hair pulled during sex or have adopted a fursona or like refrigerators or whatever, more power to you. As long as whatever your kink is only happens between consenting adults with a full understanding of the nature of what's going on, whatever. Have at it.

When it involves kids, other people otherwise incapable of informed consent or potential harm, absolutely not. There we have a pathology requiring treatment, not acceptance. Understanding what makes these people tick is one thing. Acceptance is completely different animal.

Here we have an example of institutional and/or familial cover-up. No. Just no. Burn that to the ground.

Agreed, but I didn't allude to otherwise. Just saying that everything will eventually be a fetish at some point. If you can imagine it, someone will likely be obsessed with it.  There really are no bounds.

Magistrate Judge granted bail and access to his children. What in the actual hell. 

Guy is quite obviously a pedophile in the truest sense of the word given what the feds found on his PC. He shouldn't be within 100 yards of a child.

Here are the specifics:

Thank goodness his parents and family swept his past sexual crimes under the rug and got him "Christian counseling," which obviously didn't solve his issues.  Slap on the wrist, read some Bible verses to him and then tell his sisters to be careful about their 'touchy' brother. 

From what I've seen his wife is a big of a deranged cultist as the rest of the family and has been sticking by her husband this whole time. Really feel good and bad for his children. They'll grow up in a cult with a crazy mom and a dad in jail, but they also wont be sexually abused by their father while hes in jail...so there's that.

I have to give an update on this. One of my counselees? in church is a former AM client. He wrecked his marriage to a beautiful girl. Ruined his $2M business. Filed for bankruptcy 2x. AND hasnt spoken to his 3 daughters in 3 years. Total wreck of a man. He is going thru his 2nd? round of Rehab for Alcohol and Sex/Porn Addictions. He is devastated. We are just trying to get him past the holidays and maybe a suicide. This stuff is not funny. His kids cant stand to look at him now. They were in high school and college when all this came out. The daughters were humiliated by it all. And for what? A lame ****?
