Jordan-Hare Stadium Renovation

Since they renovated the old press box to premium club seating, Does anyone know what Jordan-Hare stadium will list the new official seating capacity as? I read somewhere the club seats will add about 150 seats.  That to me makes 87,451 now in the neighborhood of 87,600. I don't know if the recruiting center adds to that number or not.

I don't know that they have decided which version to do, yet, but you don't spend the money on architects without the intention of making the project happen. Several have stated that the money is there, just not for Jacobs. With our coach locked in for he forseable future, I would be truly surprised if a major reno project, North end zone or maybe more, wasn't announced within the year. Since Greene has started making major changes already, it could be even sooner.

Hate to rain on your party but we are a long way out on the JH upgrade. Really need Gus to win 11 games this year. Win 9 and this project will fall even further behind. Huge year for a lot of reasons for football.

Didn’t even read what you said, just had to throw you a “like” because you were at 3,999.  Wanted to be the one to push you over to 4,000.

I hate like hell to hear this WDE. :banghead:

This makes no sense.  The same PTB, BOT, Boosters and big $$ Donors inked a $49mm/7 yr guaranteed contract only 7 months ago based on a 10 win regular season in '17 (albeit with threats of bolting to Arkansas [what joke] hahaha).  When all along these same folks are still in a wait-and-see phase relative to the exact same coach and aren't willing to make serious decisions & approvals for serious facility upgrades until he proves himself?

Why can some programs put their money where their mouth is and get the job DONE while others appear to stand still and watch the world go by?

Apparently, one casino (South Point) has picked 9 as their betting line.

Apparently, a CBS analyst suggests taking the "over."

That's great the hear!

I had no idea the plans were finalized and simply waiting approval & funding.  Heck, I didn't even know they'd completed the plans after JJ had to scratch the whole thing and sent 'em back to the drawing board after the 3rd feasibility study was completed.  ?

Sad if true and all the while SEC football "powerhouses" like Kentucky, Missouri, Miss St., Ole Miss and TAMU are/have spent literally $100s of millions improving their stadiums without basing it on '18 wins. Then add in the $100s of millions real football powers LSU and bama spent on their stadiums.

Auburn's shortsighted thinking is exactly what has put us behind the 8 ball as the ONLY football program in the SEC West NOT having a major stadium improvement in the last 30 years. Of course ours does come complete with the exposed steel structure supporting the North end zone seating so at least we have that nostalgia thing going on, I guess.

I am not sure of the exact location on the stadium being that its been close to 15 years since I have been to a game. I think it is one of the end zones that has the open bare area that exposes the walk ways for seating. This is a huge eye sore. Any plans to address this or has it already been taken care of!

Thanks & WDE!

Does any of the upgrades include finishing this? This should be one of the first things to be addressed.  I used to attend every Auburn / LSU games home and away and would attend with a good friend who was an LSU fan. He used to tell him how ugly it looked and I had to agree with him. This would not cost that much in the grand scheme of things and would really make the stadium look first class.

Doc, If you look at the rendering 1 or 2 pages back you'll see what the exterior of the NEZ would/could look like if they chose to do it. In a word it would look fantastic.

Do you think this is something that will get done anytime soon?  For the love of Pete, what is taking so long to get this done?

I hope you reciprocated way back then & told your LSU friend that their stadium was just as ugly on the exterior.

Seriously, until the last 6-8 yrs the exposed areas of LSU's Tiger Stadium was unsightly with broken windows, a stained facade and many exposed beams & steel.  LSU's Administration actually did some about it though, they poured big $$ into it and it's a nice venue now.  It was not an appealing sight to see back when you attended game with your friend.

Auburn's Administration has been dragging their feet for years, dangling a carrot out for the masses with multiple renderings, beautiful plans, designs and numerous feasibility studies over the years.

You are right. Tiger stadium was a very ugly. Even with the upgrades, JHS could put it to shame with bricking in the end zone. JHS could be one of the best looking stadiums in the SEC and country with bricking in the end zone in question. Once we do this, it would be hard to find a stadium in the country as nice as JHS.

This looks awesome!  Once this is done, what would this bring our total seating to?  My guess would be in the mid 90 thousand range.  I guess I should ask if this is actually in the plans for JHS or a pipe dream.

Right now, I’m not even sure if they’re still gonna go through with razing/renovating/expanding the entire North End Zone or just replacing the scoreboard in the North End Zone with mini Aubietron.

I’m hearing it’s not gonna be that much of an increase in capacity. My guess would be in between 88,000-91,000.

Although, I would love for the capacity to go up to 95,000-97,000 if they would add a lot more than what is proposed  to the North End Zone. I also want to see a food court type of development/marketplace in one of the end zones that’ll be open year-round to everybody. Add in something like Dreamland, Eugene’s Hot Chicken, Steel City Pops, a Tiger Pride store, etc.

Is there any time line for when this is going to happen?  This should have been taken care of years ago. This is one thing that made me grow tired of Jacobs. I am not sure how much pull the new AD has, but I hope whatever leverage he has, he will use it to get something off of the drawing board and into a real project with a completion date.

Who knows? Meanwhile, they’re also about to renovate the suites on the east side of JHS. Odds are that the North End Zone project is probably gonna start up after the football-only facility gets built.
