Not as slick as Mr. Derringer's "cover" (can you call it a cover if he wrote it?) but I think this earlier version has a better overall guitar ensemble:

Completely agree

Mr. Goodman's cover is probably universally known. It was the Big Band Era, and his band was way big.

In the original, however, Mr. Prima sings.

I might go see these dudes this weekend.

You definitely should given the opportunity. Seen them twice. Great show. Great band.

Speaking of "slick,"

Still haven't found your recommended (father-in-law?) fiddle/bluegrass version of "Orange Blossom..."

Did, however, in the interim, remember and find this guitar version that is so slick and polished that it's tough to even call it bluegrass:

It's in storage just have to find time to go thru the other crap to get to it. Was listening to Damn Yankees the other day and figured you would like to hear this.

Please excuse my tardiness, but didn't hear 'til the weekend.

Provided soundtrack for more than one thrill.

One of my favorite local Bluegrass/Texas Hill Country bands just taped an episode for Austin City Limits.  I present to you, Shinyribs.

One last local Austin sound for the night.  This is Shakey Graves.  He's been on ACL TV and toured all over, but is starting to get noticed a little more.  This particular song is "Roll the Bones" and he plays every instrument in it at the same time.  I've seen him twice and he's insanely talented.
