They hit the live scene in my hometown hard back in the college days. Had some indirect tie to one of the band members. They were a damn good group.

Totally fair. He is a better songwriter. The other Truckers might even admit it.

Between Patterson and Cooley, I tend to like Cooley's songs better.

Not quite sure how to explain it, but Patterson seems to say more important things, but there's less poetry to it? I dunno.

Cooley can turn a phrase like no other. He's Mark Twain-like with his ability to retool everyday language. But he seems to stay in a particular world. 

Jason's just in a different orbit. Than everybody.
