Softball vs. Longwood - game thread

single for longwood and then a hit batter. runners on 1st and 2nd with 1out. need to get out of this and keep the lead and shutout.

fly ball to center, draper makes the catch, runner tags and scores. Game is tied 1-1 with 2 outs runners on 1st and 3rd.

fly ball to left ends the top 5th. Auburn coming up in the bottom 5th game tied 1-1. Auburn back to the top of the order with Howard, Carosone and Cooper coming up. Let's get some runs Auburn.

Cooper sends one HIGH and DEEP to center and its GONE.... Auburn leads 2-1. Cooper with her 12th homer on the season.

McKayla Martin in to pitch the 6th. Surprising move to put her in here. Walters had been pitching well, except for that last inning when she got in a little trouble. But she only allowed the 1 run to score.

Infield single for longwood but nothing else. Going to the bottom 6th, Auburn leads 2-1.

Rhodes, Gipson and Abbott coming up.

pitching change for Longwood. Very odd how they are doing the pitching changes. They just make the switch, (at least tonight anyway) no coach comes out at all.

Abbott strikes out looking to end the 6th. Casey McCrackin coming in to play short in the 7th.

strike 3 swinging.....Wallace throws to Rhodes at 1st to secure the out. FINAL. Auburn wins 2-1. Game 2 tomorrow night at 6 after A-Day

I imagine the bats will wake up before this series is over.

Hope so...and coach took the opportunity to give some of the younger players a chance to see action.....but Cooper was there when she was needed and really ripped her HR.
