Auburn -Missouri game 3

Recommended Posts

Auburn dropped the third game of the series 4-3.

Had a chance to go ahead in the ninth.....2 on base and one out but could not bring in the tying run....and Grier struck out to end the game......got him twice on balls out of the strike zone ....outside and low that he could not resist.

Good pitching job from AU....but our Tigers just could not get clutch hits when needed.

This team can't win an SEC series to save its life. Perhaps they can in our next home stand.

Grier swung at those low and away pitches all weekend. Struck out a lot.

That was his downfall last season....started off hot and when opponents found that he could not lay off those pitches, that was all he saw he was batting about 100 for the last several weeks of the season. I recall one stretch where he struck out something like 10 of 12 at bats in series. He's a heck of a player and I'm hoping Sisson can get him over that issue....we need his bat.
