So....will Baylor be able to stonewall the misconduct of past and current players?

Looks like they have done a good job of it thus far.

It's got to be extra hard in Texas not to win at all costs...

On the good news front, this can do nothing but help us with their QB commit that we are recruiting.

True.....like in Alabama or Ohio or Michigan. Little tolerance of losing in those places. ...and lots of pressure on coaches to cut corners....or at least push the envelop a bit.

More stuff coming out. This is going to get uglier and uglier. Heads will roll imo

WACO, Texas -- As Baylor University's board of regents reviews a law firm's findings about the school's response to sexual violence allegations -- many involving its football players -- Outside the Lines has obtained documents that detail largely unknown allegations of sexual assault, domestic violence and other acts of violence involving several Baylor football players.

According to the police documents, at least some Baylor officials, including coaches, knew about many of the incidents, and most players did not miss playing time for disciplinary reasons. None of the incidents has been widely reported in the media.

This Baylor stuff was headlining the news channels during my lunch today at Mellow Mushroom. They appear to be up a creek right now.

FTR, Baylor is led by Ken Starr......as Pat Forde said, I suppose he used up all his moral outrage in the 80's.

Maybe KS just learned from his experiences in the 80s that everything is permissible if a person is too important to discipline. Nick seems to know that already .

What he learned is, when the dogs are growling at your gate, do your best not to let them in. I'm not surprised by his inaction AT ALL.

Women don't get raped at Baylor, because they teach abstinence only and pre-marital sex is verbotten, so it never happens. Hell, they weren't even allowed to dance together until recently. Plus, if a breach of those official commandments from the administration occurred, it was because the woman caused it by ... uh ... being female. Original sin and all that, ya know.

Maybe but more likely as with most formerly church supported schools, the Christian influence is long gone and the schools have adopted society's norms.....which is not very encouraging.

It makes one wonder just how bad things are, in these poor neighborhoods, outside of football or basketball recruits? The only time we see/hear of these sexual, stolen gun, drug, or violent crimes is when it involves an athlete. Can you imagine what is happening with all of the non-athletes in these communities?

How can we have fallen this far as a society?

We have a society that is hell bent on being PC instead of pursuing that which is CORRECT...

Baylor has no problem saying it is STILL a Christian university...

http://www.baylor.ed...uref=1172-91940

Yeah Baylor is still very much a very conservative christian university. Unlike universities like Duke or Georgetown that have old religious affiliations, Baylor actively maintains those ties. They're wacko in Waco.

Consider who they are recruiting however...bet they don't check their Baptismal records before offering the scholarship. As Mikey and others have noted,...all of us are fishing in the same poola and it's up to the coaches to try to set the standard for their schools.

Some are more "win-oriented" perhaps and willing to look the other way.....or perhaps follow Nick's latest explanation to the effect that he is doing God's work by trying to change the lives of his players without penalizing them to harshly.

I'm not quite sure what an institutions religious affiliation (whether it has one or not) has to do with an individuals alleged felonious sexual assault? An individuals idiotic decision does not discredit a ... oh never mind ...
