He gives up a couple infield hits but strands the runners on first and 3rd. Nulph back at short tonight and Deese catching again for his second game behind the plate in his AU career. AU64 10,122 Posted April 30, 2016 Author Share Posted April 30, 2016 Well....we've at the bottom of the 4th with game tied at 1-1 Lipscomb had one unearned run in the first and pitched very well since there. AU64 10,122 Posted April 30, 2016 Author Share Posted April 30, 2016 Things looking up...Burgreen and Haecker on base, no outs Well...Deese at bat and Haecker gets picked off first and Burgree then gets nailed trying to score ....a DP and the pitcher did not even throw a pitch. And after all of that Grier his a 3 run homer and what should be a 5 run lead is still just 4-1 but those last 3 batters bailed out whoever was responsible for the abortive double steal attempt that could have ended a great rally. Got the first 2 cats but then a triple that got by Grier in CF...probably should have been a single.....and then a WP allows the runner to score making the score 4-2. Next batter singles and Thompson strolls to the mound to chat. Meanwhile CL is pushing 80 pitches now so not likely to be out there much longer.
