Softball vs. Texas A&M - game 2

Auburn looking to rebound after dropping the last 3 games. We are in desperate need of a win to stay in the top 4 of the SEC to earn the bye in the first round of the SEC Tournament. We also need the wins to stay in the top 8 to make sure we stay at home for the regionals AND super regionals should we continue to win.

Game is scheduled for ESPN but the early game (as always) isn't even close to being over so the game will start on ESPN2 then move to ESPN once the early game is over. When will ESPN wake up and realize these games shouldn't be scheduled so close together. They do this for every frickin' sport and you would think they would learn this by now.

couple of base runners and now a 3 run homer and Auburn trails 3-0... 2 outs in the top 1st.

double to left and another double to left and and error by Howard gets her to 3rd and its 4-0. next batter lines one hard to left but Howard is there to make the catch and finally end the inning. Trying to figure out what happened after the Georgia series and at Tennessee last week that has continued into this weekend. We've got to figure out what has changed and fix it. This is not the Auburn softball that we have come accustomed too. Auburn coming to bat:

Howard with a sharp grounder to short, she boots it and Howard is safe at 1st. It was hit right to her and she couldn't field it. Carosone up.

Rhodes strikes out swinging and Auburn comes up empty after getting the first 2 runners on. After 1 complete, Auburn trails 4-0

Draper drops a bunt down on the first pitch, but a little too hard and back to the pitcher. Throw to 1st gets by the 1st baseman and into foul territory in right field. Run scores and runners move to 2nd and 3rd with 1 out and we are back to the top of the order. Tiffany Howard up.

Howard strikes out swinging after trying to check her swing. 2 outs. Carosone up

Carosone singles up the middle on the first pitch and that scores 2 runs.. Auburn closes it to 5-3. Emily Carosone is now the ALL TIME HITS LEADER in Auburn History. That was hit # 262 for Emily Carosone. Cooper up now runner on 1st.

Cooper walks and none of the pitches were close. Carlee Wallace up runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs. Big hit right here Carlee.

Wallace with a grounder to the right side, off her glove and into shallow right field. run scores, Cooper to 3rd, Wallace caught in a run down going to 2nd but no throw and everybody is safe. Runners on 1st and 3rd with 2 outs and its 5-4 now. Rhodes coming up. Pitching change for A&M.

Rhodes fouls off a bunch of pitches and works a walk. Bases are loaded now with 2 outs. Madi Gipson up....

Gipson flies to center to end the inning. But Auburn gets 4 and is back in it trailing 5-4 after 2 complete. now we need to set down A&M in order here
