LOL as many times as we have run out of the wildcat in 6 years we have to look all the way back to 2010 to when we actually utilized the sweep guy consistently? Oh man

And of course 2013 and 2014 with Grant and R.L.

Disclaimer: I am not saying we need a DT-QB to run a sweep

Good call. Seems like we are limiting ourselves if are being so predictable out of that particular formation. It's already a given we will run it out of the wildcat (didn't Darren McFadden have some good throws out of the formation? -- yeah I'm aware not everyone has arm talent), shouldn't we at least keep the D guessing on who gets the rock?

Were those out of the wildcat? Or were we running a pseudo-wildcat with NM in there because he can do everything a wildcat QB could do plus bring actual QB skills to the table as well

Exactly. Just like Cam. The only time a true wild-cat usually happens is when you honestly don't have a typical running threat at QB. E.G. D-Mac in for Casey Dick or Mustain. Sweep guy isn't fooling anybody with Casey Dick handing the ball off to him. Neither was Chris Todd in 2009, which is why Burns entered the game. Also, D-Mac did throw some and was actually pretty successful at it.

Maybe K.J. can be a poor man's D-MAC in terms of this. Who knows.

Correct.

However, it wasn't technically a Wildcat formation where the OTs are stacked to one side. It was a standard Shotgun formation.

Lol D-Mac was so damn good and threw surprisingly well for a RB.

exactly..look at 2:18. They don't even get the count right for motion over and the defense still has to account for the sweep guy and D-Mac..

Leads to a TD. Only if it was that simple. Hey D-Mac, go out and take some snaps.

wildcat is actually when you move the left tackle to the right TE spot.

Nice catch. I'm definitely wondering about wildcat specifically. We run sweeps out of normal shotgun rather regularly it seems like.

Those were mostly standard Shotgun formation handoffs.

I was speaking of consistent sweeps, more so. I clarified it in my second post. Thanks for the catch though.

Out of all 3 Kerryon keeper TDs, only the TD in the Kentucky game was from a true Wildcat formation with Coleman as the TE on the right side. Leff was at LT.

The Georgia & Memphis TDs were out of standard Shotgun formations with 2 FBs split and a sweeping Jason Smith.

Only Gus comments on player statuses & he doesn't talk again til Saturday. He would be nice to have for a 3rd or 4th CB.

It appears Marshall Taylor will be back next week....likely Wednesday.

Nobody catch today's interviews?

Players and CRL after practice today right?

We prob spent the whole time on punting and 4th down situation since that's what most believe we will see the most this season.
